Meet Brenda – Centre Director at Mini Masterminds Lidcombe

Hi, my name is Brenda and I’m the Centre Director here at Mini Masterminds Lidcombe. With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, I’m deeply passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where children, families, and educators feel supported and empowered every day.

At Mini Masterminds Lidcombe, we take great pride in providing high-quality early learning experiences that reflect the diverse backgrounds of our community. A strong focus of our program is the celebration and integration of Aboriginal culture and perspectives, which are woven into our daily routines and learning experiences. We aim to foster understanding, respect, and a deep appreciation for the world’s oldest continuous culture, helping children build meaningful connections to Country and community.

Our team of dedicated educators supports each child’s unique learning journey, encouraging confidence, curiosity, and resilience. With engaging incursions and excursions, as well as a variety of play-based learning opportunities, children at our centre are exposed to rich, real-world experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

Brenda leads the centre with warmth, passion, and purpose—ensuring every child feels a strong sense of belonging and is inspired to grow, explore, and thrive.

Programs

Programs

Mini Masterminds believes innovation plays an important role in every child's development. Our inclusive extra-curricular programs encourage curiosity, confidence and a love of learning, with all activities included in the daily fee.

 • Mini Champions Sports: For children aged 3+, building confidence, coordination and teamwork through active play.
 • Mini Linguistics: Language classes led by native speakers to develop cognitive skills, communication and cultural awareness.
 • Mini Chefs: Hands-on cooking experiences that teach kitchen safety, food preparation and healthy food choices.
 • Mini Yoga Club: Weekly sessions for children aged 2+ that promote wellbeing, emotional regulation and mindfulness.
 • Excursions & Incursions: Regular community outings and in-centre experiences extend children's learning beyond the classroom. From local park visits and community excursions to wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, petting zoos and visits from health professionals, these experiences encourage exploration, discovery and real-world learning.
Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

As a family-owned and operated childcare, Mini Masterminds values strong partnerships with families and the wider community.

By working collaboratively with parents, we foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels a true sense of belonging. Through our OWNA parent communication app, families receive daily photos, learning updates and information about their child's day, including meals, sleep, toileting and key routines, keeping them connected every step of the way.

Families are actively involved in centre life through regular communication, special events and cultural celebrations, creating meaningful connections between children, families, educators and the wider community.

Safety

Safety

At Mini Masterminds, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every child deserves to feel secure, respected and cared for - both physically and emotionally.

Our centres go above and beyond regulatory requirements, with thoughtfully designed environments, CCTV monitoring throughout each centre, and glass viewing panels that provide greater visibility between learning spaces and amenities. Our educators also complete additional child safety and safeguarding training beyond mandatory requirements, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to provide the highest standard of care.

We’re proud to work alongside families and educators to promote safe and positive early learning spaces where children can grow with confidence.

We're very grateful for the care and attention our children receive at this childcare centre. Recently, an educator noticed a small scratch above our daughter's eye and took the initiative to contact us to check whether it had happened before arrival or at the centre. Although it had occurred at home, we were impressed by the care, diligence, and attention to detail shown.

We also have an older child in the preschool room, and the homeroom teachers have been consistently wonderful. They are caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children's wellbeing and development.

It's reassuring to know our children are in such capable and nurturing hands. Thank you to the entire team for the exceptional care you provide.

This centre would have to be the worst run childcare in Sydney. To the owners of mini mastermind you really need to think about who you hire. When management don't know how to educate young kids and only good in ringing parents to tell them 123 instead of the staff doing what they studied there easy options are to ring and tell the parents to come pick them up..
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO PARENTS THINKING ABOUT MINI MASTERMINDS TO REALLY DO THERE RESEARCH FIRST.

I enrolled my daughter into the centre when they first opened over a year ago. All I can say is I thought back last year it was too good to be true, from the educators interactions, the planned excursions and the management team (shoutout to Chelsea and Brenda). From then on it’s only gotten even better every single month there’s something new and exciting for my daughter to interact in. Best service in the area
