About Mini Masterminds Erskineville

At Mini Masterminds Erksineville, we are committed to providing each Mini with an unprecedented level of individual care, quality education and genuine love, all of which are guided by our core values.

Our service extends well beyond just providing a safe and caring environment for our Minis. We believe that innovation drives development in our little ones. By exposing our Minis to a variety of different experiences and activities, we help them take pride in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. This commitment to quality helps us ensure each Mini's best start to life.

To ensure our Minis grow in the best possible environment, we have carefully designed and built a modern early learning centre with facilities that cater to their every need and interest. Our centre features multiple rooms created with our Mini's developmental milestones in mind, to ensure our Mini feel safe and secure at each stage of their development. On top of this, we have two fun and exciting playrooms to encourage our Minis to explore, experience and learn on their own. We utilise both of these playrooms in our intensive prep school program to ensure our Minis are equipped with the skills they will need in kindergarten.

All Mini Masterminds enrolled families at our centres receive complimentary Happy Families Memberships, led by renowned parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson. This gives you access to a wide range of trusted parenting tools, resources, and webinars—designed to support you every step of your parenting journey.

All preschool children at our centres receive FREE access to Reading Eggs and Mathseeds – interactive programs used in NSW schools to support early literacy and numeracy development in a fun and engaging way.

Programs

Programs

Mini Masterminds Erskineville sees innovation as a driver for development in our Minis. The extra-curricular activities encourage diversity and inclusion, ensuring every Mini feels accepted and develops the ability to think, imagine and play freely.

Sports Program: For our Minis aged 2 and up, the centre offers the ‘Mini Champions’ sports program. This encourages our Minis to gain fitness regardless of their athletic ability, and helps build self-esteem and confidence.

Language Program: Our Minis are taught languages by qualified and experienced language teachers, further developing, and strengthening their cognitive function and problem-solving skills.

Yoga Program: Each week, our Minis aged 2 and up will take part in 'Mini Yoga Club' at the centre. This practice is associated with learning, memory and regulating emotions.

Cooking Program: Our Minis can take part in the ‘Mini Chefs’ cooking class, a fun hands-on class that encourages our Minis to experiment in the kitchen while learning about basic cooking techniques and making smart food choices. These classes will teach kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practices. Mini Masterminds knows that our Minis benefit by learning teamwork and early maths and science concepts when participating in cooking activities.

Regular Excursions: Our Minis can extend their learning outside of the centre by taking part in excursions. Some examples include the Easter Show and visiting local parks for a picnic day.

In-House Incursions: Special visitors to the centre can share a wealth of knowledge with our Minis, as they can learn, discover and explore new and exciting things. Some incursions include native wildlife and reptile visits, petting zoos, dentist and optometrist visits and cultural exploration with visits from Indigenous artists.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

In addition to the national curriculum, Mini Masterminds Erskineville is proud to have developed a bespoke curriculum in consultation with well-regarded Early Childhood Teacher, Jacob Camilleri. The unique Prep School Program which was developed in consultation with him exposes children to the NSW Foundation Font and focuses not just on the Early Years Framework but also the Early Stage 1 curriculum as well. By merging the Pre-school and Kindergarten lessons, the children will have a head start when it comes to their formal schooling.

The focus of the curriculum is on play-based learning, which ensures each Mini develops, understands and takes responsibility at their own pace, capability and individuality. The individualised educational curriculum is based on our Mini's current learning and interests and is designed to further each Mini's growth and development.

The centre’s programs allow for our Mini's to move freely around the activities, making their own unique choices, while ensuring that all key learning areas are promoted and explored. The overall aim of the curriculum is to develop our Mini's independence, while fostering confidence in communication and learning.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

As a family-owned and operated centre, Mini Masterminds builds strong connections with centre families and the wider community.

By taking a collaborative approach with parents and the community, the centre encourages diversity and inclusion. This ensures that every Mini feels accepted and part of the Mini Masterminds ‘family’.

Parent feedback helps inform programs, which aim to build confident, independent and active learners. The centre invites families to drop in and speak to our Educators. Families also participate in special events and cultural celebrations throughout the year.

Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition

Our Educators at Mini Masterminds Erskineville aim to help guide our Minis towards healthy eating habits that will help them maintain a healthy weight and good health in the long term.

The menus are designed by nutritionist and mother, Gabriella Ratner, to include nutrient-dense meals created with the freshest ingredients, specifically selected for growing bodies. These menus allow for the inclusion of different cultural backgrounds and special dietary requirements of our Minis at the centre.

The in-house chef prepares the meals throughout the day, with a four week rotating menu. Our Minis are given hands-on experience with growing their own vegetables in the centre’s garden, to teach them about where their food comes from and to encourage them to try new things. The centre also offers a private feeding room for breastfeeding mothers as needed.

I have been meaning to write this for some time: I truly think everyone should avoid at all costs. We sent my son there for 2024 and it was terrible. The staff are over worked and the children don’t receive the care they need. There are only two rooms leading to larger kids playing with much smaller kids and not enough staff to supervise be aware that your child will have many bad accidents that are not see at better managed centres in the area. When we ceased enrolment they continued to bill us for thousands of dollars. We have emailed and called but they just ignore it. I will be escalating this issue.
