Spending three weeks at OAC Melbourne Central was an amazing experience. I was lucky to be mentored by Fanny, who made space for me to ask questions, explore new responsibilities, and reflect on my practice. Her calm, encouraging presence gave me the confidence to step into the role and make the most of every learning opportunity. Negar, the campus director, was also incredibly supportive. Throughout my placement, I also worked alongside a fantastic team – Nat, Estella and Ahri in particular. Whether it was sharing insight into children’s development, walking me through daily routines, or simply offering encouragement when things felt new and unfamiliar, their guidance helped me make the most of my experience and grow as an educator. What stood out most was the centre’s commitment to putting children at the heart of everything. Every interaction was intentional and the environment was thoughtfully designed. I walked away from this placement not just with new skills, but with a stronger sense of purpose and direction. I’m incredibly grateful to have learned in such a supportive, inspiring environment—and I’d wholeheartedly recommend this centre to anyone looking for a meaningful and empowering placement experience. I completed my student placement at Only About Children – Melbourne Central and had a fantastic experience. The educators are professional, supportive, and genuinely care about the children. The environment is clean, safe, and thoughtfully set up for babies and toddlers. I really appreciated how culturally inclusive the centre is – they respect each family’s background and celebrate diversity through daily practices. I learned so much about building relationships with children, planning meaningful activities.
