About the curriculum

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The age-specific curriculum at Little Pines Early Education & Care is delivered within a high quality learning environment. Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the curriculum is designed to nurture each child’s uniqueness as they grow into confident and independent learners.

The curriculum is play-based and tailored to interests across the key learning areas of literacy, communication, numeracy, creativity, inquiry and investigation, as well as physical activity.

Nursery

The Nursery curriculum is centred on gently caring for our infants in a nurturing and welcoming environment. Educators assist our youngest children to make positive connections with the adults and children with whom they interact, ensuring they feel secure in this first stage of detachment. The team's interest based educational programs cater to the strengths and needs of our children who are guided to develop their social, emotional, physical and thinking skills at their own pace. Through play, social interaction, spontaneous and guided learning experiences such as music, artistic activities, storytelling and physical play, infants grow in confidence and independence.

As Director of Little Pines my vision is to lead a centre of excellence that is under- pinned by strong ethical behaviour, integrity and respect for all. In an all-inclusive, fair and collaborative environment, we can all learn about our common humanity and enjoy the beauty that it brings to our lives and relationships. Such a vision can only be realised with a strong professional team that values education and the power it has in affecting change and growth.

Programs

Programs

Little Pines educators use play, inquiry and project-based approaches to programming to maximise learning opportunities for children. The environment is thoughtfully set up based on children’s ages and developmental needs. Experienced educators build strong relationships with each child, developing an understanding of their interests, which are then built on within projects and learning spaces. All learning programs are underpinned by elements of our Early Years Learning Framework, as well as the team's Little Pines curriculum elements including nature, literacy, communication, play, numeracy and creativity.

We are very pleased with the care and attention our daughter receives at Little Pines. Particularly impressed with the organisation, developmental support, friendly staff and clean environment at the centre. Lots of outdoor space for the kids as well. Thanks Little Pines.

Such a wonderful childcare centre! Our little lady has attended the centre since she turned 1. We could not be happier with our experience at Little Pines. The staff and teacher look after her and treat her like their own daughter. She is super happy on ‘school’ days, and races in every morning. As parents all we ask is for the centre to love and care for our daughter like we do. Little Pines do that in spades, as well as providing her plenty of time to play, be creative, explore and learn. They have allowed her personality to shine. We highly recommend Little Pines!

Used to be better last year, high rate of staff churn has definetly affected the overall quality (educational and hygiene wise)

Response from the owner 18 Jul 2022

Dear Fady, We appreciate your feedback and value the reviews left by our families. We are proud of the stable, long tenure of our staff with many staff over the 7-year mark and some enjoying their long service. We are also really pleased that since our first Assessment and Rating till today, we enjoy an Exceeding rating from ACECQA for the high quality of our education and care. Cleanliness and hygiene are our top priority in keeping illnesses and Covid to a minimum. Thank you for your time at our service, and we wish you and your little ones all the best with their future early education. Little Pines
