Since starting at Little Mounties by Young Minds Academy at the end of 2019, the staff have been nothing but a blessing to my children and family. My son who is now 2 can speak full sentences clearly. My daughter graduated from preschool and is now excelling in kinda. She is now a part of the before and after school program which she loves. 

The staff have been nothing but supportive, loving and caring towards my 3 babies and I have complete trust in the work they do. I can see they treat my babies as if they were their own and I will be forever grateful. 

The owner also has been nothing short of exceptional. She has not only provided a safe and loving environment for my babies, she has been understanding during this pandemic and assisted us when needed to ensure my babies are not left out. Love the centre, the staff and Irene would definitely give a 5 star rating. You will not be disappointed.

Having to change centres is overwhelming but moving to Little Mounties was by far the best move for us!  The staff are amazing; very friendly and professional. They show so much care for the children and families. Extremely helpful and reassuring. It is so wonderful seeing my two boys get so excited to go to daycare everyday. The facility is well thought of, rooms separated to keep the ages apart, but structured so that the teachers are able to help each other out when needed. 

The management is really committed to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment and I’m extremely thankful for the love and care they show my family!  Also, for the parents whose kids are new to the centre, you need not worry, for your kids will be safe and secure there. Kids who may be apprehensive at first will quickly adjust, as the staff will lovingly reassure them every day. It’s a relief to me as a mother to know that when I drop them off every morning they will be well taken care of and they feel happy and safe to be there.

Well-rounded education

Young Minds Academy- Little Mounties offers an extensive and flexible program that will prepare each child for the next steps in their education. The program covers language and literacy, creative and expressive arts, mathematics, science, and social and emotional development as they work towards the learning outcomes expressed in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming.’

Health & fitness

The educators understand that active kids are happy kids, and are pleased to offer Happy Feet Fitness as part of the weekly curriculum. The children take part in music, dance and movement, while learning about the importance of fitness with their coaches. 

School readiness

For the 4 to 6 year olds, the centre’s School Readiness Program is designed to give the children the best start in life in their learning, relationships and their sense of self. The children are encouraged to expand their horizons and develop new passions and talents, with different approaches to learning so that every child’s learning style can be catered to. The program is based on the national EYLF framework that aims to have every child ready and excited for learning when they first start school.

Outside School Hours Care

The team offers before and after school care, as well as vacation care for school aged children. This includes drop off and pick up at the local school, provision of snacks, help with homework and lots of fun indoor/outdoor activities. Some of the fun activities include painting, arts and crafts, ball games, team games, outdoor excursions, sports and more.

The educators at Young Minds Academy-Little Mounties believe children are capable, resourceful learners who are active contributors to their own learning. The children are valued as individuals and have their thoughts and feelings heard. The centre’s warm and experienced team is empathetic and respectful and is always dedicated to building a safe, secure, and passionate space for learning. 

When parents enrol at the center, they are given access to the parent portal through the OWNA app, making it easy to keep up with daily communications and developmental progress all day through the app. At Little Mounties, the team offers a key educator for each child. This is a special bond that is built between one educator and a child to help them settle in and feel safe and secure.

I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator I value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning.

As the Room leader for our Busy Bee Pre-schoolers, I ensure that children have the emotional skills necessary for kindergarten. I run our incredible school  readiness programme that exceeds the expectations of the EYLF.

At Little Mounties Preschool in Mount Pritchard, we strive to promote a secure and happy environment for children, in a secure, homelike atmosphere. 

Our philosophy centres around providing a place for children to learn as we bridge the gap between home and Kindergarten. 

Our educators foster the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of each child recognising their individual differences and needs. 

Our educational program is designed to cater to children’s individual needs, interests and skill development, while following the EYLF framework. 

We understand that effective working relationships with parents and families enable the exchange of information and continuation of care and in-turn value family input and often invite families to contribute to our service. 

We are a diverse Long Day Care Centre that recognises and respects the views, values and rights of all the children and their families.
