My child has been attending this daycare center for over two years now (baby room, toddler and now preschool), and I couldn't be happier with the care received. The ladies that work there are absolutely lovely, helpful and accommodating. They bring a bubble of energy and positivity to the environment. While drop-offs on Mondays can sometimes be challenging, the staff are so cuddly and attentive that my child settles in quickly. Every single person who works there is dedicated and attentive. I really appreciate their hard work and care. The centre also utilises an App for convenient communications and updates throughout the day, including photos of my little one which is comforting and convenient.

My son has really come out of his shell since starting at Community Kids. He's making friends, the activities are always great and he loves his educators.

Educators are family oriented, environment is bright, clean. The educators have been really understanding of my daughter's allergies and needs for her eczema and I couldn't be more happy with the treatment.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years

Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Preschool year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Preschool year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Jade, and I am the Centre Manager here at Community Kids St Helens Park. My early childhood career started in 2008 and I started working at Community Kids St Helens Park in 2018 as the centre manager. I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

From a young age I knew I wanted to work with children. When I started in the sector that this was the right career path for me. It is so rewarding being able to help and teach children every day and be apart of their own journey.

The early stages of a child’s life are fundamental, I believe learning is interwoven through physical, social/emotional, cognitive and communication. I believe when a learning environment is an extension of the children’s home this provides the children with a sense of security.

There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a child learn with passion and wonder. If we can provide opportunities for children to learn and encourage them to try, we are giving them the stepping stones for success.

Early childhood education can help your child make friends, develop independence and learn new routines. It also supports their transition to school.

We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. Many have been with the centre over 5 years. Our centre is very family orientated. We ensure we build strong relationships with all families at our service. With help from our families, we can ensure we all have the children's best interest each day. Communication is key.

We look forward to welcoming you to our centre and showing you everything we have to offer.

From our own experience, My toddler attend this centre in just two months and have a few incidents, one of them they dont even know how/why or when was that happen, my toddler always cry and upset when drop off/pick up. We are not happy with the services in here and changed to other centre. We notify them 2 weeks in advance and they did not notify/mention us if in the last period, any absense will be paid full fee from our pocket. And 2 month later they send us a bill for thats last 2 days my kid was sick and cannot attend. Post here to ALERT to Parents, so you can avoid end up like us.
