My 3-year-old attended this kinder, and unfortunately I had a terrible experience. On the second day, my son was crying, and Gracia told me that he was “screaming.” I explained that my son does not normally scream, and I asked what had happened. She then told me, “I screamed back at him.” I was honestly shocked to hear this. I could not believe that this was the way a staff member would handle a 3-year-old child, especially on only his second day at kinder when children are naturally still adjusting and feeling emotional. A childcare environment should make children feel safe, supported, and comforted — not frightened or yelled at.
