As a busy dad, this centre has been a fantastic fit for our family. We’ve been here for almost a year, and I honestly can’t fault it. The 6:30 am opening time is perfect because I can drop my child off on my way to work while my wife finishes her night shift. It makes our mornings so much easier and takes a lot of the stress out of juggling our schedules.

I also really appreciate the little coffee and snack station for parents. It’s such a thoughtful touch, and grabbing a coffee before work is something I genuinely look forward to. Meet the team

Meet the team

Hello, my name is Elissa, and I am the proud Centre Manager at Bluebird Education Botanic Ridge.

My journey in Early Childhood Education and Care began in early 2017, when I earned my Diploma. I have worked in the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector for over 9 years, including more than 4 years in leadership roles. I bring a sound knowledge of regulatory compliance, leading high-performing teams and delivering a high-quality educational program that closely aligns with the EYLF and National Quality Standards.

I am passionate about creating warm, supportive environments where everyone feels a true sense of belonging. I am dedicated to building strong relationships with children, families, educators and the wider community through open and honest communication, positive team culture and driving continuous improvement.

Outside of work, I come from a big family, and I enjoy spending time with my partner of 10 years and our energetic puppy at our hobby farm in East Gippsland, Victoria.

I look forward to getting to know you all and being part of the Bluebird Community.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The Kindergarten program is a complete cycle of each individual child’s development. Educators see and learn the ways children take on new knowledge and adapt their teaching practices to cater for them. The environment is busy and forever changing as learning evolves.

Through many literacy games, active outdoor play, and day-to-day activities, Educators strive to get each child ready for their first year of school, providing them with the emotional, physical and intellectual support.

Qualified Teachers constantly critically reflect on their curriculum, ensuring that it’s at its best for the diversity within the centre. A home away from home, where learning takes flight with the little Bluebirds.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Kindy of Kindness - Initiatives may include visits to aged care facilities, baking for the local emergency services, and fund-raising projects to assist charity groups.

Sustainability Program - By taking part in daily sustainable living practices including recycling, composting, worm farming, energy and water saving, the children develop a working understanding of how they can play a vital role in protecting the environment.

Community connections - By forging strong community ties they enable the children to develop a deep sense of belonging and connection to the world around them, construct an understanding of how society works, and begin to recognise and respect the shared values that unite us.

Technology focus - Technology is introduced through a play based approach. Educators role model and assist children to gain new knowledge and to better understand concepts through the designated computer programs.

Health & Nutrition

Health & Nutrition

The centre believes in a hands-on approach to teaching children about food, which is why cooking classes are offered as part of the curriculum.

Children are encouraged to help out where they can, whether that’s chopping fruit for smoothies or pouring them out for everyone.

Food is used as a way to teach children about identifying their needs and attending to them. Children can access drink stations and fruit bowls for a quick snack.

This centre is just stunning!
Staff are so friendly and welcoming and the whole centre is just such a delightful atmosphere. The children all look so happy and it’s such a nice thing to have witnessed. I definitely think this centre is one of the top ones that I’ve ever toured and love how much they invest into experiences for the kids. Management have been so lovely to deal with and every single staff member I saw was happy and all said hello which was refreshing!
