I would highly recommend Maureen's Family home day care to all parents ❤️ My son started his care / learning journey with Maureen in 2019 (6 months old). We were so lucky to have Maureen as our childcare service for four years. During that time, Maureen fostered social, emotional and cognitive development for my Son in a nurturing home environment. The home was always neat and presentable with learning activities organised to engage the children. The outdoor space was my Son's favourite! A sandpit, slide, forte, mud kitchen, trikes and a vegetable garden. Everything for your little ones imagination! Maureen's approach was always loving and nurturing to the children with also clear communication (daily) to the parents. Special days such as birthdays, harmony day and other cultural events were celebrated with Maureen throughout the year (often with baking of yummy shortbread biscuits!). We feel so lucky to have had the support of Maureen's Family home daycare service to foster my Son's growth & development in such a positive way. I would highly recommend Maureen for your child's best care.

We cannot recommend Maureen highly enough! My little one attended from 12 months old to starting Prep, and we are so lucky to have found her! My daughter is always excited about going to see “Aunty Maureen” and “Baba” Donny. She provides such a range of activities for the children, teaches them about her wonderful fruit and veg garden and actively involves them in planting, picking fruit etc. There’s been lots of trips to the park and library, parties for the kids to celebrate their achievements, and water play on hot days. We will miss Maureen so so much! Any child who enters her care is very lucky indeed!

A Wonderful Experience at Maureen’s Family Daycare We’ve been so lucky to have our daughter attend Maureen's Family Daycare for the past year and a bit. From day one, Maureen has provided a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment that has made all the difference in our daughter’s development. She absolutely loves her time there—Maureen’s caring and attentive nature has created a place where our daughter feels safe, happy, and excited to go to each week. The variety of activities Maureen offers keeps things fresh and fun, from arts and crafts to outdoor play and educational games. We’ve seen our daughter grow so much, not just in her skills but also in her social confidence, thanks to the rich, stimulating experience Maureen provides each day. Our decision to leave is only due to our family’s upcoming house move. We are so grateful for the love and care Maureen has given our daughter. She will always have fond memories of her time there. Maureen was recommended to us by the director of a long day care facility that we visited, as she had sent her own son to Maureen. After our first visit to meet Maureen and see her place, we were sold and didn’t look any further. We loved the idea that it was such an intimate, homely environment and a small number of children as opposed to a busy centre where it feels like your child can get lost in the crowd. Our son started with Maureen when he was 15 months old and continued until we moved last year when he was 3.5 years. Right from the start, our son loved going to Maureen’s and it was clear that Maureen loves the children in her care. During seasons where our boy struggled a bit more with separation anxiety, Maureen was so kind and caring, and did all she could to make those transitions easier for him (and for Mumma). Some of the favourite activities she did with the kids were baking (I loved seeing the kids dressed up in their aprons & chef hats), picking fruit & veges from her garden, and playing in the rain in gumboots & raincoats. Maureen was also amazing at documenting the children’s journey using photos & videos on Storypark, something we miss now that we are at a bigger centre. We appreciated how Maureen made such an effort to incorporate learnings about different cultures, including those of the children she was caring for. Our son has Nigerian heritage and Maureen would borrow story books by Nigerian authors from the library to share those elements of culture with all the children. He also learned about the cultural background of his friends as well as Maureen’s own culture. Unfortunately, our son didn’t get to do many of the excursions to the park or playgroups, but a big portion of our time at Maureen’s was during COVID, so it was understandable that the outings had to be scaled back. And we see from following her Facebook that this has resumed with subsequent cohorts. We all miss Maureen since we have moved and our son still speaks of her fondly almost a year later. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you Maureen for taking such good care of our precious son.

Our little boy who is 3 has been looked after by Maureen since he was 5.5 months old. In that time she has fostered his love of whatever he’s is into at whatever age and been very patient with him by nurturing his way of doing things, being the strong willed and independent little boy he is. Maureen has taught him so much since in her care and treated him like one of her own. This has meant a great deal to us and we know whenever he’s with her he is in good hands. He adores her and often asks to go there even on other days. She is very caring and knowledgeable in regards to educating children and has helped us become better parents. We would highly recommend Maureen to any parent looking for a daycare. Thank you again Maureen for looking after our baby boy it’s something we will always remember fondly about you now that he’s ready to move onto big kindy. He will miss you greatly.

Maureen has been looking after my son since he was 16months old for 1.5years now. It was a difficult transition for my little boy, as he found it hard to settle in his new environment away from his family. We worked persistently and gently through this over the months that it took. I felt comfortable with Muareens transparency of her care for him, her honesty on his progress, her willingness to try the tactics we suggested, and her persistence to show him the love and emotional security during the time he has been there. Maureen isn't afraid to let the kids make a mess or get messy (as I see through the photos and videos sent of the fun they are having exploring tactile environments), and somehow I still manage to see a clean faced and freshly clothed boy. A few standouts that I love about her family care environment above anything else is the amazing outdoor garden where the children learn about food and seasonal changes, planting and growing. As well as embracing different cultures and celebrating these with so much enthusiasm. I have an Indian background and my son is bilingual. Maureen has incorporated his and others' culture and celebrated events to keep things interesting, help children learn about and accept the many cultures around them, as well as help the child feel understood. I now have a young girl who I look forward to starting with Maureen down the track. I can say 'Aunty' Maureen has become an integral part of my little boys' development and growth, I can not thank her enough and recommend her very highly.

We first met Maureen when we had our first born in 2010. Maureen has now cared for all three of our children and we thoroughly appreciate the contribution and impact that Maureen has had on our children in their early years and their introduction to daycare. Maureen is very caring and very much the ‘home away from home’ that we wanted for our children. They are always busy, playing inside, outside and learning a broad range of things. We love that no activity is too hard or messy for Maureen to engage the children in from gardening, cooking, painting to bubbles and shaving cream.. they experience it all and they absolutely love it. We have always felt comfortable knowing our children are safe with Maureen and she is always willing to assist with anything we ask of her including toilet training and introducing solids/new foods. We highly recommend Maureen’s family day care service and know that our children are always happy there.

I was very hesitant about using a family day care provider. Worried about what happens behind closed doors. Not sure what to do I asked around. My son attends a local kindy and long day care centre. We love the staff their and we trust that their opinion is valuable and honest. The centre director suggested I give Maureen a call. She said that her son had been in Maureens care from when he was just a baby and he still occassionally spent time with Maureen up until he turned 4 or 5! She described her as friendly and supportive of a kids uniqueness and facilitated learning opportunities that were aged appropriate. She told me that Maureen has a big garden and a veggie patch and the kids get to help out where they can. She also told me that she takes the kids to the local play ground and to another local day care mums for play group. Maureen was all that and more. The directors recommendation PLUS she trusted Maureen with her own son was all we needed. We didn't look any further! Maureen worked with us to accommodate the days we needed and times that worked for us. My daughter has been in Maureen's care for almost a year. She was barely one and crawling when she started and now she's almost 2 and runs everywhere. My daughter gets excited to go to Maureen's. She literally runs in the door. She gives me a quick kiss good bye and off she goes! Never any tears on drop off and we concluded that Maureen was perfect for our little girl. She is now so noisey and chatty and very stubborn too. Maureen embraces her what ever stage she is at. When My daughter has been sick Maureen always follows my requests and administers medication if it's needed. Our time with Maureen is sadly coming to an end as our daughter will now be attending formal care with her brother making pick up and drop off of our kids to the one place a little easier logistically, for our family. I couldn't recommend Maureen any higher. If you are considering care for your child with Maureen, stop looking elsewhere! Maureen's is the place to be.
