Programs

Programs

Natural Elements Early Learning Centre bases programs on the new Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG) providing tailored play-based activities for holistic development.
Kindergarten transition
The centre provides a kindergarten transition program that introduces a diverse range of subjects including numeracy, literacy, art, music and science. By responding to children's unique interests and strengths, educators tailor activities to help children build important cognitive, motor, social and emotional skills, and make a seamless transition to primary school.
Extra curricular activities
The centre focuses on holistic development with a range of exciting extracurricular activities including gardening, yoga and computers. These help foster not just the important skills needed for school, but creativity, self-esteem and wellbeing.
Incursions
Occasionally, the centre organises visits from community visits from nurses, dentists, a local animal farm, firefighters, police and people from different cultures backgrounds. This helps children discover the world around them, while building a sense of community and belonging.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Learning Through Curiosity, Connection & Discovery
At Natural Elements Early Learning, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and genuinely engaged in the world around them.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, our educators design learning experiences that reflect each child's interests, strengths and stage of development.
Every day provides opportunities for children to explore, create, question, discover and develop meaningful relationships, all within a calm and nurturing environment.
Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and are thoughtfully designed to support children's emotional wellbeing, confidence, communication skills, independence and readiness for life beyond early childhood.
Building Strong Foundations
The early years play an important role in shaping a child's confidence, resilience and lifelong love of learning. Our program focuses on supporting the whole child through experiences that encourage:
Emotional wellbeing and self-confidence
Communication and language development
Creativity and self-expression
Social skills and relationships
Problem solving and critical thinking
Independence and resilience
Physical development and wellbeing
School readiness and learning foundations
Nature is woven throughout our daily experiences and learning environments.
Children are encouraged to connect with the natural world through outdoor exploration, gardening experiences, sensory play and open-ended discovery.
These experiences help children develop curiosity, environmental awareness, creativity and confidence while fostering a sense of calm and wellbeing. We believe nature provides some of childhood's richest learning opportunities.
Play is how children make sense of the world around them.
Through purposeful play experiences, children develop social skills, creativity, communication, emotional regulation and problem-solving abilities.
Our educators actively engage alongside children, extending learning through meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions and intentional teaching moments. We believe some of the most powerful learning occurs when children are given the freedom to explore their own ideas.

Learning Avenues Early Education, Care and Kindergarten in Merrimac is an amazing centre. The educators are caring, professional, and genuinely invested in each child’s learning and wellbeing. The environment is welcoming, engaging, and well set up to support both play-based learning and development.
Communication with families is excellent, and it’s clear the team puts a lot of thought into creating a safe, nurturing space where children can thrive. The programs are well planned, and it’s reassuring to see how much attention is given to individual needs and growth.
I highly recommend Learning Avenues to any family looking for a supportive, high-quality early learning centre

My son Connor has been attending Learning Avenues for a few months now. In his previous kindy environment, he really struggled with regulation, making friends, safe choices ect. Since coming to Learning Avenues, Connor is a completely different child. He is SO HAPPY, he has made so many friends, and the environment is just perfect for him. ALL STAFF work so closely together to ensure you and your family are supported, always. I have not come across a kindy that has such an amazing energy and somehow, they managed to get the best staff, that care more than you could ever hope for. I cannot recommend this kindy more. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for myself, Connor and our family.
