Kate Sachdev is a content specialist at Care for Kids, helping families make sense of the sometimes overwhelming world of childcare and early learning.
With more than 20 years spent working with children and families in schools and early learning and having navigated childcare, kindergarten and all things Centrelink as a parent herself, Kate brings both professional know-how and real-life experience to everything she writes. She’s a qualified teacher who has worked across early learning settings, supported children with additional needs and spent years running children’s storytimes and early literacy programs in community libraries.
These days, Kate sits in a unique space at Care for Kids, working closely with parents, educators, and service providers. She understands how it all fits together behind the scenes, from different perspectives. It’s this mix of experience that’s shaped her into a trusted voice in childcare.
Kate’s latest project, the Between Us Mums podcast, is something she’s been wanting to bring to life for years. It’s given her the chance to chat with experts, get real answers to the childcare questions parents actually care about and share those insights in a way that feels clear, honest and genuinely helpful.
As a mum to a neurodivergent child, Kate knows how emotional these decisions can feel. Her goal is simple: to help parents feel informed, reassured, and confident that they’re making the right choice for their child—and if it doesn’t turn out exactly how they hoped, that’s okay too. There’s always support, and you’re never on your own in figuring out what comes next.
