Now that my child is no longer enrolled at this daycare, I feel it’s important to share our experience. During our time there, there were serious concerns about supervision and communication. The most distressing incident occurred when my son came home with two large bite marks on his back—injuries we only discovered during bath time, as we had not been notified by the staff. There was no phone call, no report, and no communication whatsoever regarding what had happened. What was even more disappointing was the response—or lack thereof—from the director. There was no acknowledgment, apology, or expression of concern. This incident took place about a year ago, and while I hope the staff have since received improved training and support, our experience was deeply unsettling. Based on what we went through, I would not feel comfortable recommending this daycare to other families.

Our team have an emphasis on “real play” where shoes are optional and getting dirty is compulsory. It is about returning children to their “Wildhood”
Bahrs Scrub Early Learning is a full-service childcare centre catering for children from six weeks to six years of age.
Our unique philosophy is be all about keeping childcare simple – through our children’s eyes. Our programs are based on managing and understanding a balance between care, education and play and allowing children to discover their innate ‘Wildhood’!
All children are capable of extraordinary things, and their potential for happiness lies within all of them. And although they will face challenges as they grow and learn, our educators will give them the skills to build their resilience and become brave, curious, adaptable and extend their reach into the world.
They’ll do this by providing a warm and nurturing learning environment, and encouraging play in our centre’s natural settings — from our bike tracks and waterpark to our veggie gardens and barnyard. Children will feel safe and confident, be more resistant to stress, and have a higher measure of self-worth. It also allows their little minds will grow and develop, and inspire them to embrace a rich learning journey that will prepare them for school and for life!
