I don’t even know where to start with this review… Our family joined the KingKids family in mid 2026, after relocating from regional Victoria to Berwick. Prior to starting at KingKids, we had been having a really challenging time within our personal lives and it felt like everything was falling apart, and our son’s education was suffering. From the very minute that I reached out to KingKids and spoke with Claire, it felt like maybe we could start to feel some hope again. I attended the centre later that same day for a tour, and I was impressed by their facilities. Our son was enrolled following the tour, and his orientation sessions were scheduled… He settled into the environment steadily, having some separation anxiety; however, throughout the orientation sessions, Elijah and Zeah helped both my son and I feel safe and relaxed. Since settling into KingKids, we have watched our son thrive in many aspects of his development. He refers to KingKids as his “work”, and has a sense of pride in describing what he does at “work” every day. He went from being a shy child with limited social skills, to being such a confident boy who comes home and talks about his friends and the games that they played throughout the day. He actively initiates play and conversations with children and adults now, and no longer hides behind mum because of his anxiety. He talks about the things that he is learning every day and speaks about his positive experiences, rather than negative experiences.
Alisha is amazing. She is always smiling and happy, providing invaluable updates as to what kind of a day my son had, how much food he ate, what he learned throughout the day, and you can see how much she cares for the children. She is such a calming presence and it is evident that the children respond well to that. Sandali is also an incredible educator. The different activities and lessons each day are extremely tailored to each individual child’s needs. Sandali’s confidence when speaking about the activities that our son has engaged in is so reassuring.
Our personal circumstances have continued to be challenging since starting at KingKids. Despite that, Cass and Claire have been there through it all. They have laughed, listened and problem solved with me, during periods where I have barely known my own name. Their positive energy when you walk through the door for drop off in the morning or pick up in the evening, makes it absolutely impossible to walk out of the centre in a bad mood. Both Cass and Claire make a conscious effort to check in regularly and ask how things are going, which reflects so highly on them as professionals and people. They aren’t checking in as a tick box exercise. They listen and offer support always. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Cass and Claire.
We were once thanked for joining the KingKids family, when it really should have been us thanking the KingKids family for welcoming us. The KingKids community and staff made us feel like we had somewhere that we belonged and felt safe. The impact of that will never be completely or accurately expressed but we are so grateful to every single person that helps the centre function in the way that it does. It is a centre that is built on fun, inclusion, education, safety, compassion and care. It is a centre that is operated by real people, who aren’t afraid to be themselves and you can see that the staffing culture is amazing. Our family will be forever grateful that we found KingKids.
