Hi my name is Leigh Winckle and I have been operating Periwinkles Family Day Care in North Lakes for 12 years. I have over 20 years of experience working with children.
I am a Mum of 2 and a grandmother of 1.
Why should you choose Family Day Care? Family Day Care is a soft and gentle start to a child's lifelong learning journey. At Periwinkles, I believe in providing the children with a safe nurturing and caring environment and I believe that the first 1000 days of a child's life are crucial for their social and emotional well-being and critical for their brain development. Therefore my program is individually designed to reflect the child's needs and to promote each child's abilities.
I believe in the power of Nature Play, grounding children and connecting them to Mother Earth through natural resources. We also love loose parts play to promote creativity and imaginative thought. We love to paint and craft, we love nature walks and music. Reading and singing are an everyday activity.
I promote mindfulness and I am a firm believer in the importance of children learning to care , empathise and respect each other and their environment.
