Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, our philosophy is built on creating a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring environment for children, families, educators, and the community. We believe in fostering a strong sense of belonging and encouraging each child to thrive holistically—emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically.

We embrace each child’s uniqueness and individuality, encouraging them to explore, discover, and grow within their environment. Children are provided with meaningful opportunities to engage in play-based learning and to build relationships with their peers and educators. Our approach supports holistic development, fostering confidence and a strong sense of security. We believe every child is special and deserves the chance to shine in their own way.

Our educational program is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We create an engaging and responsive environment where children are encouraged to lead their own learning journeys with the guidance of caring educators. Through play, inquiry, and intentional teaching, we build stable, respectful relationships and promote a strong sense of community and active participation in the world around them.

We are proud to be a part of the Mt Druitt community and are committed to building strong connections with local families, organisations, and cultural groups. By fostering open communication and embracing an open-door policy, we promote inclusivity and cultural awareness. These community ties help children develop a deeper understanding of their place in the world and nurture a sense of belonging that extends beyond the classroom.

We recognise that families are the first and most important teachers in a child’s life. As early childhood educators, we value our role in forming strong, respectful partnerships with families. Through open communication and collaboration, we create a warm, family-like environment where children are supported to grow into their most authentic, capable selves. Together, we build a foundation of trust and mutual respect that benefits every child’s development.

Programs

Programs

At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, our programs are thoughtfully designed and led by our experienced Educational Leader. Every aspect of our curriculum is child-focused and aims to nurture each child’s individual interests, developmental milestones, and sense of agency.

We are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which forms the foundation of our educational approach. Our program revolves around the five key Learning Outcomes:

  • Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
  • Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

We believe that learning is most powerful when it is play-based, intentional, and deeply connected to each child's lived experiences.

At Kindy Kollege Mt Druitt, we embrace diversity and provide inclusive practices that support children with additional needs. We ensure every child has equal opportunities to participate, learn, and thrive. Through purposeful play and emotional support, we foster confidence, pride, and a sense of belonging for all children.

Our School Readiness Program prepares children for their transition to formal schooling by fostering independence, self-help skills, emotional regulation, literacy, numeracy, and social development. We work in close partnership with families to ensure each child is confident and well-prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.

We celebrate the rich diversity within our community and embed cultural awareness into our daily practices and programming. Children are exposed to various traditions, languages, and customs, promoting understanding, respect, and inclusion for all cultures and backgrounds.

We offer a wide range of enriching experiences to extend children’s learning beyond the classroom:

  • Mini Master Chefs – Fun and interactive cooking experiences
  • Lunch Box Program – Promoting healthy food choices and independence
  • Birthday Celebrations – Special recognition of each child's birthday
  • Free Dental Checks & Lessons – Oral hygiene education and support
  • Munch & Move – Encouraging physical activity and healthy lifestyles
  • Responsible Pet Ownership Program – Learning empathy and care for animals
  • Sustainability Program – Promoting environmental responsibility
  • Educational Incursions – Engaging incursions throughout the year
  • Family Events – Strengthening our community through shared celebrations

We provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals daily, ensuring children receive balanced meals that support their physical growth and overall wellbeing. Our menus are designed to meet dietary needs and encourage healthy eating habits from a young age.

All my my children have attended Kindy Kollege, I always feel welcomed when we turn up in the mornings. Everyone has a smile on their face and they seem to enjoy being with and the teaching the kids. I don’t have a bad word to say about them, I love them all and I’ll be very sad to be leaving the centre when my little one goes to kindy but who knows I might be back in a few years down the track 😂 I highly recommend Kindy Kollege for all of your childcare needs 💚

Every “first” in life is special — even more so when it involves your child. Our daughter’s first learning experience outside the home began at Kindy Kollege, and this centre will always hold a special place in our hearts. She started here just after turning one, and we’ve been continuously impressed by her development. Whether it was singing, dancing, or surprising us with something new she had learned, it was always a joy to see how much she was growing — all thanks to the wonderful team at Kindy Kollege. A heartfelt thank you to all the educators who showed such patience, passion, and care: Ashley, Sharmila, Trish, Sejal, Razia, Gita, Elen, Brianna, Ritana, Taylor, Maddy, Kristal, Fritrina, Jim, Mary, Ayesha, and everyone else who contributed. Thank you for your dedication and for creating so many beautiful memories for our family over the past two and a half years.
