Salma, the former Director, was great at making a good first impression, but unfortunately that was where our positive experience ended.<br><br>Initially things were fine, but things went downhill when two of the educators that our baby had form an attachment to left and we were not properly informed. We kept being told they were “on holiday” until time had passed and we eventually realised they were not returning.<br><br>Once these two educators left, our baby regularly came home sticky and dirty and was consistently having poor naps. Our baby was otherwise happy and had no behavioural issues; our concerns were about the standard of care and, particularly, the lack of communication. Other examples include, not being notified when the iPads were down, meaning we received no information about our baby’s food, naps or photos and had no alternative updates about how their day was going.<br><br>We were also extremely concerned when, shortly after a reported HFMD case, my husband witnessed our baby drinking from another child’s drink bottle.<br><br>Even after leaving, the lack of transparency continued. Our baby’s last day was photo day, so we remained in contact regarding the photos. We discovered Salma had left and Melissa had taken over, yet we were still being told Salma was “on holiday” — the same explanation we’d previously been given when educators left. It was incredibly frustrating to see what felt like the same lack of transparency continuing under new management.<br><br>On top of this, the administrative aspect was completed incorrectly on our baby’s final day resulting in us being charged by two childcare centres, another example of Hilltop not having great process or care for the parents.<br><br>Ultimately, our baby was fine — we weren’t. We simply lost confidence in the centre due to the repeated lack of communication, transparency, attention to detail and concerns around cleanliness and supervision.<br><br>A good first impression isn’t enough when you’re trusting someone with your baby. Unfortunately, we would not recommend this centre based on our experience.

The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. My daughter loves it there and we will be so sad to graduate this year and say goodbye to the beautiful staff. The centre is also clean and my daughter loves the lunch meals they provide.

Such a beautiful childcare centre with genuinely caring and thoughtful educators. You can see how much effort is put into creating a warm, engaging and welcoming environment for the children. Melissa in particular is amazing. Her care, dedication and the little details she puts into everything really stand out. It’s so reassuring knowing the kids are surrounded by people who truly care about them. Highly recommend! 💕

I have had a wonderful experience with 38 Hilltop Childcare Centre. The educators are caring, friendly, and genuinely committed to providing a safe, happy, and nurturing environment for my child. Send your kids here and don’t think twice, you’re leaving your kids with a family and it’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to us. Thank you to all the staff here, especially Miss Salma and Miss Zahra for always going above and beyond for the kids, from the variety of foods they eat, the nurture and care you show them, to the activities they engage in every day - amazing!

Couldn’t be happier at Hilltop Childcare! The educators are so warm, caring, and genuinely invested in the children. You can really tell they create a safe and fun environment where the kids feel comfortable and excited to learn. The activities are always engaging and thoughtful, and there’s a great balance between play and learning. Communication with families is also amazing and we’re always kept in the loop. Such a beautiful, positive place for children to grow and thrive. Highly recommend! 💛

I toured this centre in January 2025, and the centre manager, Salma, told us it was a family-owned business. From that first visit, everything she promised during the tour has been absolutely true. Now in 2026, my son is 3 years old and thriving. He can write his name, count from 1 to 100, and is even starting to do basic addition. I’m so impressed with how much he has learned and grown during his time here. The staff are caring, supportive, and genuinely invested in the children’s development. It really feels like a community, not just a childcare centre. I highly recommend 38 Hilltop Childcare to any parent looking for a nurturing and high-quality environment for their child.

Very disappointing experience. Staff often seem distracted and on their phones instead of engaging with the children. The environment also feels quite outdated, with many toys and resources looking like they’ve been there for years. It just doesn’t feel like a very attentive or nurturing place for kids.

Very disappointing experience I paid a bond deposit for my child’s enrolment at 38 Hilltop Childcare Centre. Despite multiple follow-ups, phone calls, and significant time and effort, the bond has not been refunded. Each time I contacted the centre, I was told “we will process it now” and “sorry for the inconvenience”, but no refund was ever received. After repeated unmet promises, I was left with no choice but to take the matter to NSW Fair Trading. This experience has been very disappointing. I believe families should be treated fairly, especially when it comes to refunding deposits. This has been stressful and time-consuming, and I did not expect this level of unprofessional handling of a bond refund.
