This statement is endorsed by the leadership team of Little Bunnies & Friends Early Learning Academy and is reviewed annually to align with evolving best practices in child protection.

The centre believes that children learn best through play. Through play children can develop self worth by gaining a sense of their own abilities and learning to feel good about themselves. Play also helps children to learn essential skills such as problem solving, working with others, sharing, language development and physical skills.

There are two rooms at the centre:

Joeys: 6 weeks to 3 years

The focus in this room is on positive interactions with others, learning to take turns, developing language skills, fine and gross motor skills such as crawling, walking and jumping.

Kangaroos: 3 years to 6 years

The focus in this room is on laying the foundations for transitioning to big school. The children are learning to recognise and write their names, numbers, colours, shapes, alphabet, sharing and turn taking, self help skills, caring for the environment, Spanish language skills, language development, cognitive thinking skills and developing physical gross motor skills.

Children learn best when educators recognise their individual strengths, interests, cultures and abilities. By listening to children’s voices, observing their learning and providing engaging experiences, educators support each child’s development. I value positive relationships with children, their families and educators as these partnerships create a sense of belonging and support children’s learning and well-being

I believe that food is an important part of helping children feel cared for, healthy and ready to learn. At Little Bunnies & Friends ELA, I take pride in preparing nutritious meals with love, knowing that mealtimes are an opportunity for children to develop healthy habits, independence and a sense of belonging. I value creating food that supports children’s growth, well-being and happiness each day.

Little Bunnies & Friends ELA offers a rotating seasonal menu, which was developed in line with the Healthy Kids NSW Government recommendations for child care. Food is prepared fresh each day by the centre’s experienced cook. 

The children enjoy breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea. All special dietary requirements including halal, vegetarian, and food allergies are catered for in this nut free centre.

At Little Bunnies & Friends ELA, we believe that the rights of children are paramount. Every child is recognised as a unique, capable, and competent learner with their own strengths, interests, skills, and abilities. We are committed to ensuring that each child experiences high-quality education and care that supports their holistic development—physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and creatively.
Our philosophy embraces the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – Belonging, Being and Becoming. We provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and imagination. Through play-based learning, intentional teaching, and meaningful interactions, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, problem-solve, take safe risks, and develop independence and self-confidence.
We value and respect the diversity of our children, families, educators, and wider community. Cultural and linguistic backgrounds are celebrated and reflected in our program, menus, and daily practices. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land and are committed to embedding their perspectives into our curriculum in respectful and authentic ways.
Families are central to children’s learning and wellbeing, and we actively seek to build strong, collaborative, and respectful partnerships. We welcome family involvement and value their contributions to our curriculum and centre life, recognising that shared knowledge and experiences enrich children’s sense of belonging.
Our program promotes inclusion and equity, supporting children with diverse backgrounds and additional needs to thrive. We also foster children’s awareness of social justice, empathy, and responsibility by encouraging respect, fairness, and kindness in all interactions.
At Little Bunnies & Friends, we encourage children to develop a strong sense of identity, wellbeing, and connection to the natural world. We embed sustainable practices and provide opportunities for children to engage in hands-on experiences that nurture environmental responsibility and care for their surroundings.
We are committed to continuous improvement. Our educators engage in ongoing critical reflection, professional development, and draw upon current research and contemporary early childhood frameworks to guide best practice. Through this, we aim to provide a rich, stimulating, and responsive learning environment that empowers every child to reach their full potential.
