About Little Scholars Deception Bay

Little Scholars Deception Bay is an Exceeding NQS-rated campus and the local choice for quality early learning across the Moreton Bay north corridor — serving families from Deception Bay, North Lakes, Narangba, Burpengary, Kallangur, and Redcliffe.

The moment you walk through our doors, something shifts. The aesthetic is calm, natural, and considered — five beautiful learning studios designed to open children's minds to exploration and curiosity without overwhelming them. It's intimate, warm, and immediately feels like a safe place to leave your greatest loves.

Our on-site chef prepares fresh meals daily, and children participate in Bush, Beach, and Pram Kinder programs that take learning well beyond the classroom. The Family Time Program — on-campus haircuts, dental and specialist visits, take-home meals, and quarterly parent date nights — is our way of giving back the hours that family admin usually steals. Extracurriculars including STEM, yoga, dance, soccer, swimming, and languages are woven into every week.

Exceeding NQS. Family-owned. Book a tour and feel the difference for yourself.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Little Scholars offers a range of studios tailored to different age groups, each designed to enhance learning and development in a nurturing environment. From the Nursery for the youngest learners, focusing on care and comfort, to the Toddler, Pre-Kindy, and Kindergarten studios, each space is crafted to support the specific developmental stages of children up to five years old. Activities and curriculum are age-appropriate, encouraging play-based learning, social skills, and foundational education.

This streamlined approach of an emergent curriculum supports educators to adopt child development theory and put into practice.

Our educational program is based on the premise that children are most successful at learning when curriculum experiences account for children’s interests, strengths, and individual needs.

The Collective encompasses all aspects of Little Scholars, including a collaborative approach with our children, families, educators, and community.

Our weekly programs, which can be seen in our studios, are responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the children and allow for flexibility and extended periods of play and research to test theories.

This enquiry-led teaching strengthens children to become competent and capable across their developmental domains. The Collective allows educators to follow the children’s lead and actively explore new concepts, ideas, or interest.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Little Scholars believes that health and wellness is the foundation of growth, early childhood development and education.

Developing healthy eating habits is a fundamental skill for young children and we play an important role in helping your child learn about and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day. That’s why our Little Scholars campuses employ qualified chefs to prepare tasty, nutritious meals and snacks in commercial kitchens. These meals are safe, developmentally appropriate and properly portioned for your child. It’s a recommendation from health authorities that children in long daycare are provided with at least 50 per cent of their daily nutritional requirements whilst they are in care.

We have an exciting rotating four-week menu that changes seasonally and incorporates a variety of flavours and textures to support our children trying new things, expanding their palates and promotes healthy eating. This menu always on display for families to have a look at, and we’re always open to suggestions from parents!

We provide your child with opportunities to enjoy healthy foods that promote growth and allow them to learn food preferences and good dietary habits that help them live a healthy lifestyle. Little Scholars offers a seasonal Feed Australia-approved weekly menu, which includes vegetarian and halal options if required. We devote significant resources to allergy requirements, all combined with our user-friendly online allergy notification system.

Healthy eating from early childhood also means children will have less chance of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and some cancers. But it will also mean they feel great and enjoy life more!
Health and Wellness is essential for our Little Scholars growth and development and encourages the children to live robust, happy, and fulfilled lives.

Bush & Beach Kinder Our little scholars explore Mother Nature daily which is literally on their doorstep. They step outside and become outdoor explorers and the rest is history.

Pram Kinder No matter how little you are, even our littlest scholars partake in outdoor adventures and become outdoor explorers.

Drawing Lessons Young minds are hungry and always ready to learn new things. Our drawing lessons with Mr Tom offer our kindergarten children a world of exploration, creative expression, and expertise all in one. These classes are supported by Tom Gant from You CAN Draw!

Cooking lessons Our little scholars express themselves through the art of cooking and are opened to a world of opportunities for creativity and exploration. Watch your little scholar become their own little chef.

Yoga Watch out for your competitor yogi friends because yoga is on the weekly agenda for our little scholars! Yoga is more than just a fun activity; it is an outlet for coping with stresses and promotes a happy mind.

Sport Think personalised obstacle classes, soccer, swimming and more. Our little scholars are supported with expert teachers who promote fun and educational fitness lessons for the children.

Dance Dance provides the joy of dance and music in young children while creating and promoting musical appreciation, rhythm, coordination, fitness, social skills and most of all fun! Children are taught a range of dance techniques including ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap and more, in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.

Absolutely love Little Scholar, my son attends and his younger sister will be starting soon aswell, the staff are kind and nurturing towards the children and have always been amazing when I have asked questions or required support with my son. The service is beautifully set up and each room provides children with amazing resources to keep them engaged and learning. I love the communication about my child’s day and feel so much relief leaving my child in the safe hands of the staff. I could not ask for a better home away from home for my children than Little Scholars.

Jess

I really can't fault the staff at Little Scholars. They've been very supportive and understanding with my little girl and her struggles with separation anxiety. They're also willing to roll with how strong-minded she can be. We're happy to be part of the Little Scholars family, and her baby sister will be joining her there soon

A wonderful daycare, I cannot recommend Little Scholars Deception Bay at Cross St highly enough. My son has been attending since 11months in Nursery (now almost 18months). As a first time mum I am so grateful for how kind and caring the staff have been towards our family to help support us with this big transition when I returned to work. When I attended a tour here, I immediately knew this was the daycare for my son, it has a lovely safe atmosphere. The manager Courtney is so approachable and friendly, Dana in admin is the most lovely, kind person you could want on the front desk and my boy and I are so lucky to have the most beautiful educators in his nursery - Kirsty and Sienna - my son reaches to them for a cuddle at drop off, and they are the most lovely and involved educators. I have been so impressed with how the nursery is run, and and it truly is such a relief knowing how loved and cared for he is with them, and seeing the bond he has now formed with them is beautiful. An extra shout out to Cadence and Lisa too, who have been wonderful with my boy from the very beginning! It's also amazing to see all the things he learns during his days there, the children are continuously learning and participating in different activities. It really is a beautiful centre and you can tell the staff are passionate about their roles, and it shows in the way they care for the children. Our family is very happy with this centre. Thank you Cross St team for running such a lovely centre, we are so grateful!
