My child attended this centre for just under a year. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing, and over time we came to feel the centre was chaotic and that staff often appeared overwhelmed.

Throughout our time there, my daughter frequently came home with poo in her nappy that had clearly been there for some time. On several occasions, educators would notice me arriving for pickup and immediately rush to change her nappy before bringing her out, which concerned me. More than once she developed significant nappy rash, and we were told she had “pooped while napping” and that it had therefore been left for some time. This explanation never aligned with my daughter’s usual routine, as she has never been a child who poops during naps.

When collecting my daughter, I also regularly observed educators engaged in conversations together while children were playing, rather than actively supervising them. On one occasion, I watched an educator realise a child had somehow obtained a pen and was drawing on the wall before quickly intervening and taking it from the child’s hand quite abruptly.

Photos are attached of my daughter’s wrist after she arrived home one day with an extremely tight hair elastic around it that did not belong to her. It had clearly been there for some time and had left a deep indentation. While this may have been an accidental oversight, it appeared to have gone unnoticed throughout the day and, given our broader experience at the centre, it left me extremely concerned.

Unlike other childcare centres we have attended, this centre also provides very limited communication throughout the day. There are no regular photo updates of your child, only an occasional generic collage post that rarely reflects the day’s activities. The app updates regarding meals, sleep and toileting were also minimal and provided little meaningful information. Compared with our previous centre, where educators regularly shared updates and photos throughout the day, this felt like a significant step backwards.

I also requested a parent handbook on several occasions, as I wanted information regarding daily operations, notice periods, holidays and sick leave policies. Each time I was told one was “in the works”, however, despite asking multiple times over the course of our enrolment, one was never provided.

Finally, I am still waiting for my bond refund. It has now been almost two months since we left the centre, and despite following up, I have not yet received it.

Overall, this was not the standard of care or communication I expected from an early childhood education service. I appreciate that childcare is a demanding profession and that I met some lovely educators during our time there. However, the repeated issues we experienced meant I no longer felt confident that my daughter was receiving the level of supervision and care she deserved.

I genuinely hope the centre addresses these concerns, as every child deserves attentive, consistent care and every parent deserves confidence when leaving their child each day. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this centre.

We’re absolutely stoked with Heritage House Baulkham Hills and the tremendous care that our two children have and continue to receive. It’s been almost a year they have been enrolled here and as a mother I was very hesitant to allow others to care for my children but Jess and the beautiful teachers here really made it so easy. Ms Kristy, Ms Kamal, Ms Sivaja and more have really made our two feel so comfortable and have built a great relationship with them. Ms Atefeh has recently stepped up into a leader role and has done so with such ease and confidence. Jess is a manager like no other, she’s warm, caring, invested in the children AND parents and she is so personable and relatable which really makes all the difference. Our children are truly learning so much every day, we are so impressed and can’t say enough positive things about it here. Thank you to this amazing team for your hard work and dedication every day, it does not go unnoticed!

My daughter is always so happy when we arrive! The moment she sees the heritage house door from the car park, she starts clapping with excitement. The nursery educators and all the other staff have been wonderful in supporting her learning progress and making sure she feels happy and safe in the environment. I highly recommend this center to everyone!
