My children have been very happy at community kids. The staff at drop off make you and your children feel welcomed and supported. At pick up, there is always information about their day, as well as photos and program activities posted online throughout the day including but not limited to- timelines of their drinking, eating and sleeping habits. The range of activities indoor and outdoor as well as the consistent staff make it a pleasure to be part of the Community Kids village. Having tried two other centres in the area, my children love coming to Community Kids each and every day! The educators are enthusiastic about their program ideas and share a genuine authentic rapport with the kids, enabling a safe and inquisitive exploratory space which nurtures not only the children’s own interests, but the outcomes required in the curriculum. Most importantly, there is a real sense of professionalism and duty of care that is shown by the staff. They are always communicating, on stations and interacting positively with the kids. They answer concerns promptly and with sensitivity. I’m so thrilled I found this centre and they had space for us.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Meet the team

I’ve worked in early childhood education since 2011, beginning as a casual assistant educator and progressing through roles as a lead educator, educational leader, and assistant manager before stepping into centre management five years ago. I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and am currently working towards a Bachelor of Early and Primary Education.

My passion for early education comes from a deep appreciation of the magic in childhood—the curiosity, wonder, and endless potential in those early years. Watching children grow, learn, and build confidence is incredibly rewarding, and I believe the early years lay the foundation for lifelong learning. As a leader, I’m also passionate about inspiring and supporting educators, helping them thrive in this important industry.

Over the years, I’ve learned that every child is unique and capable, thriving in environments where they feel safe, valued, and supported. My teaching style is warm, play-based, and child-centred, focusing on fostering resilience, social-emotional development, and a lifelong love for learning. I also work closely with families, believing that strong partnerships create the best outcomes for children.

Attending an early learning centre provides children with essential opportunities for social, emotional, and cognitive growth beyond what they experience at home. Through play-based learning, peer interactions, and guidance from experienced educators, children develop independence, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation for their future.

At Community Kids Victoria Point, I’m proud to work alongside a team of passionate educators dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences. We foster a supportive and collaborative environment, not just for children but for families and educators alike. Building strong, trusting relationships with families is at the heart of what I do—by listening, sharing insights, and offering guidance, I strive to make every family feel confident and supported in their child’s early learning journey.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Community Kids Victoria Point early education centre.

I can’t recommend Community Kids Victoria Point enough. The teachers are honestly the best — so caring, patient, and truly invested in the kids. The rooms are always clean and well-organised, and there’s always something fun happening to keep the children learning and smiling. When my kids first started, they could barely talk, and now they’ve developed so much — it’s amazing to see how far they’ve come. You can really feel the love and effort the team puts into helping every child grow.
