As a parent with two kids at the centre—one in the nursery and the other in preschool—I’ve seen firsthand just how thoughtful, caring, and committed the team is every single day. What I really love is that Gem is a family-owned centre. It feels personal, like you’re part of something meaningful. There’s a genuine sense of community here that’s often hard to find. Because it’s a smaller, more humble service, there’s such a strong focus on creating meaningful experiences, and the educators are not just qualified—they’re passionate and consistent. That consistency has meant so much to us. Our kids have been able to form strong, trusting relationships with the same familiar faces, and that’s helped them feel safe, settled, and confident. All of the educators we’ve met have been warm, caring, and clearly experienced. There’s a real sense of joy and pride in the work they do, and it shows. The positive energy and morale among the team is obvious—they genuinely love being there, and that makes such a difference in the atmosphere of the centre. Carla, the centre director, is truly special. She’s warm, approachable, and you can tell she genuinely cares about each and every child. Our kids absolutely adore her—seeing them run up to her with big smiles and hugs each morning is such a beautiful moment as a parent. She’s had a real impact on our more reserved child, helping them come out of their shell and build confidence in such a gentle and encouraging way. The space itself is calm and thoughtfully set up, and we’ve been really impressed with the extras—things like yoga and the phonics program for preschoolers. It’s clear the team understands how to prepare kids for school in a way that’s still playful and respectful of their individual pace and interests. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Gem community, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, high-quality early learning environment.
