I honestly couldn’t be happier with our experience at Gem West Pymble. As a parent with two kids at the centre—one in the nursery and the other in preschool—I’ve seen firsthand just how thoughtful, caring, and committed the team is every single day. What I really love is that Gem is a family-owned centre. It feels personal, like you’re part of something meaningful. There’s a genuine sense of community here that’s often hard to find. Because it’s a smaller, more humble service, there’s such a strong focus on creating meaningful experiences, and the educators are not just qualified—they’re passionate and consistent. That consistency has meant so much to us. Our kids have been able to form strong, trusting relationships with the same familiar faces, and that’s helped them feel safe, settled, and confident. All of the educators we’ve met have been warm, caring, and clearly experienced. There’s a real sense of joy and pride in the work they do, and it shows. The positive energy and morale among the team is obvious—they genuinely love being there, and that makes such a difference in the atmosphere of the centre. Carla, the centre director, is truly special. She’s warm, approachable, and you can tell she genuinely cares about each and every child. Our kids absolutely adore her—seeing them run up to her with big smiles and hugs each morning is such a beautiful moment as a parent. She’s had a real impact on our more reserved child, helping them come out of their shell and build confidence in such a gentle and encouraging way. The space itself is calm and thoughtfully set up, and we’ve been really impressed with the extras—things like yoga and the phonics program for preschoolers. It’s clear the team understands how to prepare kids for school in a way that’s still playful and respectful of their individual pace and interests. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Gem community, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, high-quality early learning environment.

Our family’s experience at Only About Children West Pymble has been nothing short of exceptional. Communication has been fantastic as well. The team keeps us well informed about our child’s day, learning progress, and any important updates. Their openness and availability make it easy to discuss our child’s needs and any concerns we might have.

A warm community environment with excellent age-appropriate, play based learning activities. My two children (4 year old and 1 year old) feel known and are beautifully cared for by the team of educators. Even our arrival each morning includes a warm and excited welcome from the gorgeous chef, preparing nutritious and yummy meals. I often have to pretend that the meals I cook are following recipes from daycare, just so my daughter will eat it. The communication is excellent and parents are constantly updated on their child’s day.

Both my kids have attended this daycare and have made amazing friendships out of it. The teachers are wonderful - they always take time to say hello to the parents, they are kind and caring towards the kids, and always so helpful when drop offs are often difficult due to a clingy child. The activities and experiences the kids have are varied and interesting. And I love that they always take the time to bake a cake together whenever a child has a birthday. My daughter is often sad when it's not a daycare day, she loves going here.
