The pres-schoolers participate in a school readiness program that will support their transition to school. Through this curriculum they learn to take initiative and guide their own learning experience. They learn to work with their peers in projects and develop their creativity, imagination and other foundational skills. Most importantly they inhert a life long love of learning. 

In line with the Early Years Learning Framework, the educators follow a play-based curriculum with meaningful and purposeful activities. The curriculum is child-centred to help each child thrive while respecting their individual interests and skills. Through their daily activities, the children are encouraged to develop a positive attitude towards learning that will serve them well in their school years and beyond.

The curriculum is catered to the different developmental needs of the children at different ages and stages. For the infants and toddlers, the focus is on sensory learning, physical play and motor skill development to help the children understand the world around them. 

At Billy Kids the children participate in a program that is developed based on their interests. The activities may include yoga, language classes, science lessons, cooking classes, sporting groups and nutrition groups. They also participate in incursions and excursions throughout the year.

The community is a strong focus for the educators at Billy Kids. They have built strong connections with the local community, neighbours, schools and health professionals to enhance the children’s learning and the opportunities available to them.

To teach the children about the environment and sustainability, the educators embed environmental education into the program. They learn about recycling, gardening and composting while they develop a love for the planet and an understanding of their responsibility to care for it.

Billy Kids is well know for attracting and keeping the areas best educators. The Director Donna is dedicated to creating an exceeding learning environment where the children can learn, grow and develop. Almost all of the educators have been part of the team for many years and have helped to create a positive and welcoming culture at the centre.

The educators are encouraged to draw on their own unique strengths and skills and heritages to share with the children through the curriculum. This creates collaboration and open communication and teaches the children to be respectful of the unique skills and interests every individual brings to the table.
