We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Harmony Griffin! The staff are incredibly caring and attentive, and it’s clear they genuinely love what they do. Every morning, we’re greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that instantly puts both parents and children at ease. What really stands out is how creative my child's educators are with their learning experiences. Each day is thoughtfully planned with engaging activities that spark curiosity, encourage imagination, and help the children learn through play. Our child comes home excited to tell us about new things they’ve discovered and the fun projects they’ve worked on. She loves playing daycare at home, imitating the experiences she has had with her educators. It’s such a relief knowing our little one is in a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment surrounded by people who truly care. We highly recommend Harmont to any family looking for a place where children can grow, learn, and thrive!

About Harmony Early Education Griffin

The Harmony Difference

We bring a sense of calm to the years that define early childhood with a composure that is all at once confident and reassured, that can only come from knowing every detail has been carefully and consciously curated.

Beautifully composed from the inside-out, we set a tone and a standard, that says “exceptional” in every way. When all the elements work together in harmony – the environment, the people, the curriculum – it is powerful and wonderful.  It is all you could want for your child, and more.

At Harmony, everything we do, is carefully considered and intentional, taking the best from educational philosophy and evidence-based design to create studios and spaces that nurture, protect and grow.

We consistently raise the standards for early education. Our holistic approach to early learning and development is informed by contemporary inquiry-led educational and human research, and the insights of respected international early childhood theorists.

Your child is considered a confident and capable member of our learning community, we embrace the unique and understand the power of celebrating individuals. By recognising and responding to each child’s unique learning disposition and style, we ensure your child’s learning journey is bespoke, and support their ability to contribute to their own and others’ learning.

Harmony is elevating early education.

Physical Literacy

We embed physical literacy into every day at Harmony. Either via short transition sessions which happen daily, or longer dedicated movement sessions focused on building physical and other skills via engaging play-based activities. Physically literacy is about so much more than ‘being active’ and ‘fit’. A physically literate child has the movement skills, motivation and confidence to seek out and enjoy a physically active lifestyle now and in the future. By fostering physical competence, body awareness, and social interaction, we encourage a lifelong love of movement and promote overall health and well-being. Our holistic approach integrates cognitive, emotional, and physical growth, creating inclusive environments where children thrive through play-based learning.

Our Environments

Environments affect our outlook and how we feel. The Harmony approach is to create a sanctuary that creatively supports the needs of children, families and educators and inspires dialogue, development and ongoing conversation without compromising aesthetic. Harmony partners with international experts in playscape and environment design and heavily invests in the professional development of our educators and support teams to maximise the learning experience within the varying spaces. Children have a choice of indoor and outdoor learning, collaborative play, projects, investigating topics of interest, imaginative and socio-dramatic creative play, engagement in the arts and more. Children being active participants in their learning means they make choices and contribute to decisions about learning experiences.

Nutrition

We recognise the importance of healthy foods and drinks for your child’s growth and well-being. That’s why we are dedicated to offering wholesome, nutritious, and balanced meals every day. Additionally, we fully support breastfeeding mothers and warmly welcome you to come into your child’s studio to feed at any time.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

In our studios, especially designed for children birth – two years, we draw upon these key concepts:

Free movement

We believe in Emmi Pickler’s philosophy, “Babies are allowed to move naturally and spontaneously follow their own developmental timetable.” Environments at Harmony are designed to invite children’s free movement and we encourage the infants to reach out, roll, crawl and cruise in order to develop their core muscles which supports them to become independently mobile.

Baby led weaning

We invite children to feed themselves from the time they commence solids, following the infant’s lead. We provide a healthy, balanced mix of finger foods and support the child to monitor how much they wish to eat. Educators are always sitting and engaging with the child during mealtimes.

Individualised care moments

Educators remain ‘present’ during nappy change times and communicate respectfully with children. Emmi Pikler and Magda Gerber believe caregivers need to take the time to make nappy-changing, feeding, bathing and dressing an unhurried, relaxed and pleasant quality time – with the baby being an active partner.

Exploratory times

Each day children at Harmony have uninterrupted time for play and interaction. Crawling and walking infants are invited to freely explore our indoor and outdoor areas and gardens, interacting with nature, each other, and the world around them. Non-mobile infants are supported by our educators.

From the tour with Hayley, to the first day in the studio my baby has been cared for like family. Matter of fact - our family, is treated like family. Hayley took me through my tour, was very informative and answered all my questions. During the tour, every staff member including the beautiful chef Angie came to say hello and introduce themselves. This is not “on tour basis” I have seen them greet every family that comes in passing. Theres always someone there waiting to greet you with a smile. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Deb, Phaidra and Taylah - my goodness ladies. God really made his time creating you three. I can’t thank you enough for providing this mama a sense of comfort and peace knowing my baby is learning, laughing, eating, exploring and being guided by you all. Thank you for caring for her the way you do and loving on her the way we do as a whanau. I love seeing her kick her legs and throw her arms when we pull into the car park. Her excitement speaks volumes. Oh Jess, you wonder woman. Thank you for carrying everything in the back end, the things people don’t tend to see. I see you, thank you. I know you work your butt off and passion shines through you. We don’t even need to ask why you do what you do; you show it. Ps, the 1 star reviews are full of it. Looks like another centre wrote them lol. Anyways, thanks again Harmony whanau - sorry it’s long but what needed to be said couldn’t be done in a few words. 🌟
