About Appleseed Childcare

Appleseed Childcare has been operating in the Epping community for 14 years.

We are a boutique 49 place early learning centre which is family owned and operated.

Our centre is licensed and fully accredited.

We offer Child Care Subsidy and Start Stong Preschool Funding for 3-5 year olds.

We have 3 seperate rooms catering for infants 6 months-2 years, toddlers 2 years-3 years and a preschool room 3 years-5 years.

Our management team consists of our owner/director and assistant director. Each room has qualified and experienced educators who are caring and strive to develop each child.

We pride ourselves on operating above staff to child ratios and offering families and children continuity of care with a low turnover of educators.

Our educational programs include the ongoing development of children's interests, knowledge and ongoing individual development. Our programs provide children a wide variety of teaching and learning experiences throughout the year. We provide families with daily updates on their child's involvement in the program, monthly observations, and two developmental reports each year.

Our preschool program provides opportinities for children to develop their independance, social and communication skills, pre literacy and writing skills and much more.

Our outdoor environment offers children a natural space to enhance their creativity, explore in the natural world and develop fundamental movement skills such as throwing a ball, jumping, hopping, skipping, running.

We provide healthy nutritious meals each day, prepared and cooked onsite by our wonderful Chef. Our operating hours are 7am- 6pm Monday to Friday and we are open 51 weeks of the year.

We close on all Public Holidays however we do provide make up days in leui of paid days.

Programs

Programs

Our play-based Educational Plans are designed to create a stimulating, flexible environment where children can explore their surroundings whilst they develop physically, emotionally and intellectually.

We provide a balance of indoor and outdoor activities that offer variety throughout the day. During indoor play, children have many experiences in learning areas with a variety of resources.

Project-based learning is a way for children to be involved in their own learning. We use different types of formats to gather and display children’s voices and their ideas about a topic including what they know and what they would like to learn. We then use this information to plan activities and learning spaces to provide the children with a range of learning experiences. Our projects are displayed on our walls, our online portal is updated regularly and each child has a portfolios containing all your child’s individual records.

Educational Plans (each with a goal) are displayed in each room and use the Early Years Learning Framework as a foundation for children’s learning. These plans are reguarly reflected on and evaluated to ensure children are progressing towards the planned goals and help to decide what will continue. Our plans incorporate children’s interests, intentional teaching, family events and cultural experiences.

Throughout the year we cover many important learning areas such as dental health, road safety, child protection etc. Special days and theme days are celebrated in the centre and each year we choose a charity organisation to which we raise money and donate goods.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Our centre promotes a safe, loving environment where children feel secure and valued, and the rights of children are promoted and respected. We believe children are unique individuals and provide enriching, meaningful opportunities for them to explore and develop.

Through high-quality teaching and learning experiences, we promote independence, curiosity and exploration, where children are encouraged to learn as individuals. As early childhood professionals, we understand that children grow and develop at different ages/stages and support each child’s developmental abilities.

At Appleseed Childcare we promote social justice through activities that are without bias towards gender or culture. Our routines are flexible and a wide range of activities are planned to provide inclusion and support for children with additional needs or linguistic backgrounds.

Educators work together with specialists and families to support children with additional needs. We encourage children to show respect for the natural environment and also promote equality for children with different backgrounds and abilities.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our chef prepares a nutritious and delicious morning tea, hot lunch and afternoon tea. The meals are designed to give the kids the fuel they need for a big day of playing, learning and growing.

Children are encouraged to try new things but there is always a favourite to fall back on. Special dietary restrictions and requirements are, of course, acknowledged and catered for.

We are very lucky to have found Appleseed - it is an excellent daycare with carers who are genuinely engaged and interested. Good management and happy, trustworthy staff make this a great place for children of all ages. Special shout out to the yellow room and Alice's amazing cooking. 5 stars.

How I know that this is a great childcare is when my son says “yay” when I tell him he has Appleseed to go to in the morning. Drop offs are easy as he happily goes to the educators and knows it’s a safe & fun place. The educators are so caring and celebrate all the little things he does. It gives me so much relief whilst I am at work and away from my son that he is safe and being taken care of. Thank you to all the educators, especially the Yellow Room staff for making it a positive experience for Adhu ♥️

Thank you to all the staff at Appleseed daycare for making my son feels like he is in his 2nd home every day ❤️. What sets you apart from other places are the level of care that you give to our child every day, your clean facility and your amazing educators. My son thrives at your day care, eats very well and has made a lot of friends (often doesn't want to leave during pick up time! Haha). He also has developed well in all aspects including, academically, emotially and socially. Your educators are also top notched. They are very attentive to what our child's needs, genuine and very nurturing! We are very lucky to be part of Appleseed family ❤️
