We met Megan when my middle child started daycare. She was such a big part of why she settled into the daycare. Megan moved on and we moved out this way and I had my 3rd bub. I wanted to return to work but was uncomfortable sending my little 1 to daycare since my middle daughter did not like her new daycare out this way. I ended up pulling her out of that daycare and started my search for a place for them both. Fate intervened and I found out that our favourite educator was opening her own daycare! So worth the drive, my youngest had settled in so seamlessly and my 3 year old felt right at home from day 1. There is no better feeling than being 100% comfortable with who you’re leaving your kids with. Megan does all the fun activities that mum doesn’t and really supports their development and creativity with enthusiasm. My girls have found their home away from home and this mama couldn’t be happier!
Welcome to FDC on Burrum - a place where children's curiosity and sense of wonder are ignited and nurtured. I completed my Diploma of Child Care and Education at the end of 1997 and have worked in Family Day Care, Long Day Care and Outside of School Hours Care. My program is play based and follows the interests of the children while ensuring that all areas of the children's development is catered for.
Children are supported as they develop self-regulation and social skills which will allow them to be active participants in the community. Regular outings and excursions are planned to provide a connection to the community while allowing children to participate in a wide range of experiences to expand their thinking and their understanding of the world. I am passionate about sustainability, and you will see many recycled, up-cycled and re-purposed items in the play environment at FDC on Burrum. I have a strong focus on building strong, secure relationships (between Educator and child, and child and child) while helping the children develop a love of learning, to empower them to be life-long learners.
