I’m really disappointed with my experience at Trails Early Learning Centre in Oran Park and feel other parents deserve to know.

I raised multiple concerns about my daughter’s safety and the way incidents were handled, and most of my messages were ignored or brushed off. It was very unprofessional. The final incident was so inappropriate that I felt I had no choice but to speak up publicly.

1. Head injury ignored:
My daughter came home with a big lump on her head after telling staff she hurt herself under the playground. The educator dismissed her and said she was upset because “someone tipped out her sand.” I emailed the centre immediately but received no response. I followed up again and still got no proper acknowledgement, no incident report, nothing. For a head injury, that’s unacceptable.

2. Incident reports that weren’t accurate:
Another day, I was told my 4-year-old “provoked a child,” which is an inappropriate way to describe a young child, especially when staff didn’t even see what happened. Then the incident report had the wrong parent name, and after I questioned it, they changed and replaced the report entirely. Luckily, I had screenshots of the original.

3. Confronted in front of my daughter:
The worst part was being confronted by the owner in front of my daughter. The owner insisted I go into a room with no cameras, and when I refused, he spoke to me in public about our termination due to me speaking up for the way we were treated, while several staff watched. It was intimidating, unprofessional, and could have easily been avoided if they had simply called me earlier in the morning instead of waiting for me to arrive with my child and refusing to let us drop off my daughter, they waited to do all of this Infront of my 4 year old instead of calling me beforehand which caused so much distress and confusion to myself but especially my daughter.

4. Terminated without notice:
Later that day, I received an email saying my daughter’s enrolment had been terminated the day before, even though they didn’t tell me until after i arrived with my daughter to drop her off to childcare as i did ever other day.

Overall, I experienced poor communication, a lack of care, intimidation, and unprofessional behaviour. My daughter was distressed, and as a parent, that’s not something I take lightly. I also noticed multiple incidents when picking up my daughter with how other children were treated in the centre. Please do not fall victim to the look of the centre, I wouldn’t want another family to go through this.
