Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives, a new, purpose-built, spacious childcare and daycare centre in Sydney’s upper north shore. Our early childhood education programs are focused on play-based learning, and the Centre provides a nurturing and safe environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age.
To BE Me is Guardian’s exclusive learning program a game changer that marks a new era in early learning. It reimagines early education, giving families clear insights into how play connects to learning and development.
The NSW Government offers funding to subsidise the cost of preschool in long day care. For 3-year-old’s this is between $423-$769 and for 4-year-olds between $1,783-$2,563. This support is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees. Ask for more details when you tour the centre.
Nursery Rooms are our specialty. Our experienced Baby Ambassador and Nursery team take the time to really know your baby’s routines and personality, supporting them to feel safe and settled. Our Nursery rooms are calm, nurturing spaces that feel like a home away from home.
Nutrition for Life, Guardian gives families peace of mind, knowing their children are developing habits that can set them up for a future of exposure to different foods, good eating patterns and healthy eating. Our qualified cook / chef provides 5 healthy foods every day from our in-house kitchen.

To BE Me is Guardian’s exclusive learning program specifically designed for each age and stage of your child’s early years.
The program includes resources and tools that support learning and make it easy to see your child’s progress along Learning and Development Pathways.
It groups your child’s learning into seven areas to help you see this progress clearly. Each of these areas has behaviours or skills that are generally linked to each age and stage.
Children receive their own My Learning and Development Book, which is updated regularly with their progress.

Our unique program for children aged 3-4 and 4-5 years old ensures they are supported to develop the important emotional, social, and thinking skills they need to make A Flying Start to School.

I sent my child to Guardian for 2.5 years. My child had a great experience, loved the center, and made many friends. It has strong community values and management is great. Unlike most centers, they kept the same educators for years. The environment is well managed and designed for child safety and fun day to day. I had the most wonderful experience sending my son here from ages 1 to 3. All the educators were incredibly kind, caring and invested in my son's growth and time at Guardian St Ives. They were extremely supportive and flexible and it felt like one giant family. We were so fortunate to have chosen this centre and we would still be there if we did not have to relocate. Our room leaders were Sandy then Tenzin, who were both so loving, nurturing, attentive and went above and beyond!! Our needs were always met and our expectations were exceeded. Huge shout out to the entire team who work so hard and genuinely care for the children. Thank you for making this experience a memorable one. I highly recommend this centre to any family looking for a supportive, warm and trustworthy place for their child.

We absolutely love the educators at this daycare. They are all so kind and caring, and it’s wonderful to have the same team each day, providing consistent care. My two-year-old genuinely enjoys attending and looks forward to seeing her teachers and friends every day. After a poor experience at another day care in St Ives, Guardian is such a breath of fresh air and the team really embody what early childhood education should look like. Shaoli and Ishini and wonderful as the management team and are always approachable and friendly. Special shout out to Tenzin, Sandy and Gloria who are so amazing with the babies and toddlers. I couldn't ask for better people to look after Sadie!
