About Guardian Childcare and Education St Ives

Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives, a new, purpose-built, spacious childcare and daycare centre in Sydney’s upper north shore. Our early childhood education programs are focused on play-based learning, and the Centre provides a nurturing and safe environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age.

To BE Me is Guardian’s exclusive learning program a game changer that marks a new era in early learning. It reimagines early education, giving families clear insights into how play connects to learning and development.

The NSW Government offers funding to subsidise the cost of preschool in long day care. For 3-year-old’s this is between $423-$769 and for 4-year-olds between $1,783-$2,563. This support is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees. Ask for more details when you tour the centre.

Nursery Rooms are our specialty. Our experienced Baby Ambassador and Nursery team take the time to really know your baby’s routines and personality, supporting them to feel safe and settled. Our Nursery rooms are calm, nurturing spaces that feel like a home away from home.

Nutrition for Life, Guardian gives families peace of mind, knowing their children are developing habits that can set them up for a future of exposure to different foods, good eating patterns and healthy eating. Our qualified cook / chef provides 5 healthy foods every day from our in-house kitchen.

With a strong focus on safety and wellbeing, we’re proud to be a trusted choice for safe childcare.

The program includes resources and tools that support learning and make it easy to see your child’s progress along Learning and Development Pathways.

It groups your child’s learning into seven areas to help you see this progress clearly. Each of these areas has behaviours or skills that are generally linked to each age and stage.

Children receive their own My Learning and Development Book, which is updated regularly with their progress.

To BE Me is underpinned by Guardian’s world class teaching program that has been developed over many years of research and thousands of hours observing how children develop.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

We believe in nutrition for life, supporting children to develop healthy eating habits from an early age. Qualified Chefs and Cooks in our centres create fresh and nutritious meals each day, using seasonal, high-quality ingredients that align with Australian Dietary Guidelines.

Meals are designed to be delicious, introduce children to diverse flavours, and make eating healthy food a positive experience.

Managing allergies and intolerances is part of how we keep mealtimes safe and enjoyable. Every child’s needs are carefully tracked, meals are supervised by permanent educators, and allergens are strictly controlled.

Beyond providing wholesome food, we use mealtimes as learning opportunities. Children practice independence by serving themselves and engaging in conversations about food, building confidence and understanding of healthy choices.

From the moment we started, the educators have been warm, caring and genuinely attentive to our child’s needs. It’s clear that they take the time to get to know each child and make them feel comfortable, safe and supported. I particularly love how welcoming the educators are each day and how they communicate with us about our child’s activities, development and day-to-day experiences. The centre itself is spacious, bright and well equipped, with great indoor and outdoor areas for the children to explore and play. Our child enjoys going to Guardian, which gives us great peace of mind as parents. It’s lovely to see their confidence growing, making friends and becoming more independent. Overall, we’re very happy with Guardian St Ives and really appreciate the care, patience and effort the educators put into making it a positive experience for both the children and their families.

We have had a wonderful experience with Guardian at St Ives centre. The educators across all the rooms are caring, patient and genuinely committed to the children’s wellbeing and development. They understand each child’s individual needs and create a warm, safe and welcoming environment for all the children.
We have seen our daughter become more confident and independent during the two years she has been at the centre. The management team is also always there to support the children and their families, which we really appreciate.

The staff at Guardian St Ives are so caring and kind. From the first time we reached out to enquire, we’ve had a great experience. They truly care about our children and go above and beyond to make sure each child gets individual attention and amazing care.

We’ve experienced both preschool (our 4 year old) and nursery (our baby). All the educators care deeply and really listen to feedback. There was a rough patch for my 4 year old when we had a lot of life transitions happening, which made her a bit emotional and uncomfortable at daycare at times, and the team made a plan for her and made sure she was well supported through it.

Shaoli, Sandy, Yina and Tenzin are some of the lovely staff who made me feel so comfortable leaving my 6 month old for the first time when I went back to work, giving me updates throughout the day. They even bought new toys to help her settle in since she was the youngest baby in the group.

Very grateful for our time here! 🥰
