Habitat Early Learning Nundah continues to be outstanding—not only in Montessori practice, but in their uncompromising commitment to inclusion, dignity, and child safety. The environment is calm, purposeful, and genuinely supports independence and real learning. We have been at the centre for 4 years and both my children have flourished here, gaining confidence, focus, and practical life skills thanks to educators who truly understand Montessori education. I also want to acknowledge how professionally and decisively the centre handled a distressing situation involving a mother who was repeatedly unkind and exclusionary toward other children. Their behaviour had no place in a high-quality early learning community. That mother & her children have since left, and the atmosphere has noticeably returned to the positive, respectful environment I know and value. With the added reassurance of an experienced onsite registered nurse, I feel completely supported and confident in the care provided - especially in the current climate of the early childcare sector. Habitat Nundah stands strong in its values, and we recommend them wholeheartedly.

This review is in response to two recent reviews which were posted by parents with too much time and, unfortunately, not enough sound judgement. I'm absolutely appalled that you would both publicly name and describe a specific child in your reviews. that is disgusting. That is a CHILD you're talking about; including a staff member's child who you've now identified and described in a public forum for everyone to see. You want to talk about bullying? What you've just done IS bullying. You've publicly shamed a child and his mother. That is pathetic. My child attends this center and the educators and Nurse are wonderful, dedicated people who work tirelessly in an incredibly demanding job, not made easier by parents like you. Habitat have excellent mechanisms to raise concerns if yours were actually legitimate. You don't write public reviews targeting individual children and their families. The fact that you both thought it was acceptable to single out a child and identify his mother by her role says everything about your judgment, not theirs. - A concerned parent who actually respects children's privacy.

My grandkids attended this daycare and it was the worst experience we’ve ever had. This centre claims to follow the Montessori approach, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Only one educator across all three rooms is actually qualified. Many of the staff show little effort toward children who need extra attention, which makes the favoritism painfully obvious. The nurse who works there has a son enrolled, and he has been causing trouble by bullying and physically hurting other kids — yet nothing is being done about it. The Centre Manager, Caitlin, clearly doesn’t know how to manage this centre properly. Many parents have pulled their children out, and even the educators are leaving within just a few months. During pick-up time, the children often run wild and out of control because there’s simply no structure or proper supervision. Please beware before enrolling your child here.

I don’t have my own kids, but I’m a very proud and loving Aunty and I have witnessed first hand what an amazing centre Habitat Nundah is, and how my beautiful nephew has flourished since joining there. My nephew has been attending Habitat Nundah for almost 2 years, and all I can say is that it was the best decision my sister ever made for him! He had a truly awful experience at a previous daycare and still has trauma from the way he was treated because he had some behavioural challenges. He still talks about it and it breaks my heart 🥹 My sister moved him to Habitat- and he was finally truly cared for, and feels loved. After actually being treated with kindness and compassion by his Educators (as all children should be), he has thrived at Habitat! The centre is truly spectacular and there’s so much on offer for the children. My nephew is in a Montessori room and he absolutely adores the structure, the independence and particularly the practical life activities! He has been given the space and time to shine and be himself thanks to the amazing Educators in his mixed-age Kindy room. We are always greeted with warmth and a friendly face, and everyone knows your name. It feels incredibly safe (the fingerprint tech is an amazing touch!), and the bonus of having an on-site Child Health Nurse is just fantastic! Our family is just so grateful to have found Habitat- my nephews experience there has truly been life changing for him. Thankyou to the incredible Educators for your wonderful care! I love seeing my little munchkin so happy and cared for while his parents are working hard.

We have two kids who attend habitat nundah, have had a great experience, so glad we made the move, staff are friendly and very welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. Very grateful for their communication from allergy management plans to simple mishaps of kids being kids. Especially having a Nurse onsite to oversee and action when needed very settling as one of our kids has allergies.

I am absolutely disgusted and deeply disappointed with this childcare centre. It’s advertised as a Montessori centre, but there is absolutely nothing Montessori about how they operate. The educators clearly lack proper training or understanding of Montessori principles, yet we’re paying premium fees for what’s supposed to be quality education and care. There’s so much favouritism — only certain kids get attention or encouragement, while others who genuinely need more support are completely ignored. The environment is far from nurturing. There’s even a child who constantly bullies and physically hurts other kids, especially girls, and nothing is being done about it simply because that child’s parent works at the centre. It’s unacceptable and unsafe. Many of the children behave like they’re in a zoo — running wild, shouting, and completely out of control — which clearly shows how poorly the educators can manage the room. They simply don’t have the knowledge, patience, or proper training to guide the children effectively. If your child doesn’t attend five days a week, they’ll be excluded from excursions and special activities. What kind of “inclusive” childcare does that? The centre manager is another huge disappointment. She gives the impression that everything is fine, but when you raise a genuine concern, she makes you feel like you’re the problem. She clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing and has no idea how to handle issues or take real action to improve the centre. What’s even more disturbing is seeing certain educators promoted despite doing absolutely nothing. Every time I pick up my child, one of them just sits there like a statue. I once saw a child crying, and that same educator rolled her eyes and yelled the child’s name instead of helping. I had to step in and comfort the child myself — and I couldn’t stop thinking, what if that was my child? It’s absolutely heartbreaking and beyond concerning. This centre is clearly all about profit, not children’s wellbeing. There’s no genuine care, no real sense of community, and no effort to help kids grow or feel safe. Don’t be fooled by the fancy building or the parents’ room with coffee and snacks — because for the amount you pay, that’s exactly where your money goes, not into your child’s actual care or development. We trusted this centre with our child’s development and were completely let down. I would never recommend this place to any parent who truly cares about their child’s growth, safety, and happiness. **PS I raised several concerns and provided feedback during our time there, but no real support or action was ever taken. When I spoke to the centre manager directly, instead of addressing the issues professionally, she threw me under the bus. My child has also said she doesn’t like a particular educator because she yells and always seems unhappy. No child should ever feel scared or uncomfortable in a place that’s meant to be nurturing and supportive. Parents please carefully consider the kind of environment you want for your child’s growth and development. P.S. To the parents who seem to be defending this centre as if they work there and are trying to play the victim — if you don’t address children who bully others, good luck with their future. Parents who support centres that refuse to help correct harmful behaviour are part of the problem. This kind of negligence is exactly what creates serious issues for future generations.

By far the best childcare we have found. The staff are all wonderful. The centre is very well operated, exceptionally clean, highly recommend!!

We were with habitat Nundah since they opened, and from the beginning were persistently underwhelmed by the amount of undelivered promises. The centre has churned through numerous directors over the last few years, and unfortunately there has also been a revolving door of unhappy educators who leave. Our family stayed on with loyalty to a few excellent teachers/educators - sadly, they’re gone now too. It appears that Habitat’s focus on profit surpasses the care for their staff and prioritising a consistent service. This centre promises better ratios, better staff conditions, better communication with families, better curriculum, quality staff P.D./training, and generally better quality, safer care. We haven’t experienced that to be true. Teachers are run off their feet often with heaps of children in their care, overworked, unheard, and under resourced. The ‘events’ Habitat promises are a joke - they’re no more polished than what any other service offers - and half the time they’re cancelled anyway. Habitat has a very slick and heavy numbered upper management who sweep your concerns under the rug when you raise them. It’s just smoke and mirrors and empty promises, and in the long run nothing changes. An honest review of this establishment has been long overdue. Don’t drink the cool aid and certainly don’t think that making financial sacrifices to send your child here will give anything above and beyond what you’d expect at any other childcare service. Apart from a pretty building, this service is simply focussed on profits, not quality care.

My child has been going to the Montessori curriculum since the beginning of the year after having a bad experience at another childcare centre. She's so happy to be there, it's clear that we made the right choice. The educators spend time telling me how she did through the day, and have really fostered the Montessori style of early childcare education I've been looking for. There is a beautiful parents room that has been fantastic when I've arrived in the middle of my child's nap, so I can do a pump session or get some work Done on my laptop while I'm waiting, and there's also a book swap library for the children. The educators are passionate about a holistic approach to early childhood education, and this is seen through the multitude of workshops that are held through the year, as well as the community events that are held regularly. It's always a difficult decision for parents to place their child in someone else's care, and it has been a stressful transition for me to find a place that both myself and my child were comfortable with. I'm glad I found Habitat, and am thrilled that my little girl gets excited at the thought of going to daycare now. Cost is higher than the standard, but it's only for a few years, and I truly believe that the first few years are most critical for her development, and we're lucky to be able to afford this, as I don't know where I'd find a centre as great as Habitat!
