Our educators understand that Early Learning occurs in environments where children feel safe, secure and protected. Our centre coordinator, Kylie, has been part of the AKG family for over 25 years. Our educators have a sound understanding of the EYLF, which equals to meaningful play-based experiences for all children that will extend and challenge their learnings.

Our centre is purposely designed with five air conditioned indoor learning environments and three outdoor learning environments. Each learning environment is warm, inviting, engaging and structured to assist each individual child’s learning and development.

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Transition To School Program

Transitioning to school is such an important time and is one of the biggest milestones for children and families. Forming strong relationships between early childhood settings and schools before children start kindergarten assists in ensuring a smooth transition. This also allows for information sharing between families and primary school settings prior to commencement.

As part of our Transition to School Program, our services host school readiness workshops for families in the month of June. Guest speakers to the workshop include a School Principal, Kindergarten teacher, an Occupational Therapist and a parent from the previous year to talk about their transitioning experience. Our speakers are all sourced within our local community. The workshop not only provides parents with information for a smooth transition, but also information needed in the decision making process in sending your child to kindergarten.

School Liason Program

Our services have built partnerships with their local schools. Each year School Liaison Programs are in place across our services. This program provides the children a learning experience of primary school. The School Liaison Program is planned for 5 weeks visiting the schools on alternate days once a week.

– Playground visit – Classroom visit – Library visit – Assembly and school hall visit – School office and sick bay visit

Educators in the preschool room complete 3 booklets for the children at the end of year.

  1. NSW Transition to School Statement: Prepared by educators with input from children and families. The NSW Transition to School Statement is given to your child’s teacher the following year. It consists of important information to help your child have a successful start to school.
  2. I Am Going To School Booklet: This book is completed by our educators and consists of information about your child’s experiences and interests at our service. The booklet is shared with your child’s primary school teacher and will assist them in learning more about your child’s time at our early childhood service.
  3. I Am Starting School Next Year Booklet: This booklet is completed by you during or after your child’s orientation visits at their primary school. Your child can then share the book and their experiences with their peers at our service. This booklet will also help familiarise your child with their new school as you read the book regularly with them.

Graduation

Our services hold this very special event for our school leavers at the end of the year. Our Graduation celebration marks this special time in our children’s lives as we all come together to celebrate the end of an amazing year we have had.

The Active Kids Learn and Grow Program

The Active Kids Group Learn and Grow team consists of professionally trained fitness, language, dance & drama and STEM educators. The aim of this program is to deliver classes that build on each child’s natural abilities and interests across these areas through fun, interactive learning experiences.

Educators and families will receive the lesson plans and the resources that will be used. This enables everyone to become actively involved in the early childhood learning journey.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Active Kids Group hopes to inspire children for a lifetime of learning. Their goal is to provide the highest level of care and education, considering each child’s interests, strengths and individual learning styles. They provide a caring and stimulating environment which creates a safe space for children to explore new learning experiences. Active Kids Group has a team of highly intelligent, passionate and loyal educators who inspire passion for learning.

Active Kids Group follows the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework), in collaboration with their educators' experience and expertise to create a high standard of learning for your child. Their educators work toward developing a curriculum that reflects the needs, interests, strengths, and abilities of all children within their care.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our rotating menu ensures that Active Kids Group is always using the best, fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables for meals. We support and provide for children with food allergies, dietary requirements and restrictions, as well as specific cultural and religious practices.

Our child care nutrition menu is age appropriate, therefore for children aged 0-2, all hard fruit and vegetables are parboiled and all meals and snacks are mashed or pureed as needed. New food will only be given to children after they have been introduced in the home environment at least 3 times first.

We consult with the children and families, seeking their feedback is an important part of building the menus. We also consult Munch and Move who gives us final approval, ensuring we are meeting all the correct nutritional requirements.
