My honest experience:
The best thing I did for my child was taking her out of this centre.
The Good:
1. Great curriculum going by their messages.
2. Educators welcome you with a friendly nice smile.
The Bad:
1. Very tight space in the rooms: Kids don’t have enough room to move about so they spend a good amount of time outside even when it is cold and windy.
2. Poor hygiene: For the three months my child spent here, she always came home looking very dirty, food stains all over her clothes (she had change of clothes in her bag but the staff didn’t change her), her milk bottle covered in dirt, her water bottle covered in dirt and food stains, not rinsed after feeding. They try to rub this off as normal but I’m having a better experience at her new centre. This is the only centre and the only place my child has ever had diarrhoea, never at home or at her new centre.
3. Unprofessionalism: Management is either evasive or defensive when you make a complaint. For instance, there was an incident where the educator had told me that she had fed my child her milk, I got home to find her milk powder still in the container so I called the centre to ask which milk they had fed my child? Management maintained that my child had been given her own milk. Please how do you explain that the milk I had in my hands had already been fed to my child. That was a big turn off for me because it simply meant that they do not take accountability for their own mistake. They would rather be defensive. This is one of many examples.
1. Lack of facilities to aid kid’s development: This is understandable as they do not have much space to fit in the facilities, but every parent wants their child to develop. My child who did not walk at this centre because she wasn’t being supported to achieve this goal, stated walking one week after leaving this centre. Falls back to the room being too cramped.
5. It appears the centre wants the enrolment but not the job:
From the first week my child started attending this centre till I cancelled her enrolment, they always found a lame reason to send her home and on some days, have administered Panadol that wasn’t needed (mind you, their policy is that a child is not allowed back to the centre the following day after administering panadol).
She was enrolled for three days/weeks but never completed three days a week for the three months she spent here. Unfortunately they were using an unreliable Aldi brand thermometer (Braun) to check the kid’s temperature and always called to say my child had a high temperature, I come home to find that her temperature is normal, she is well and playing. The last time, they called me to say my child has a temperature of 38 degrees and asked if they could administer Panadol, I said “no” because I was close to the centre and can pick her up. I got to the centre 30 minutes later with my own thermometer to find my child’s temperature was normal and she was seated on the floor. The educator seemingly guilty started explaining without being asked that my child’s temperature was high and she was being clingy. How can you be a child carer and complain of a baby who just turned 1 year old being clingy?
I reported this to the management and instead of addressing this, she was evasive and said I had a misunderstanding of how daycares work.
Surprisingly, the last two weeks my child spent at the centre after I lodged the complaint and cancelled her enrolment, she was not sent home for even a day.
She has been at her new daycare centre and have never been sent home or reported sick or had any diarrhoea for even a day. My baby is back to being her bubbly self which she was slowly loosing at First Memories Early Learning Centre and she has achieved amazing goals in such a short time.
Management still being defensive as usual in their reply below. You really think I woke up in the morning and chose to leave a negative review on a random daycare centre? You guys need to learn to take constructive criticism and take accountability for your mistakes. You need to do better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take all reviews seriously and strive to maintain a high standard of care and professionalism across our centre. We’re pleased to hear you found our educators welcoming and our curriculum promising. Our team is committed to creating warm, nurturing, and stimulating environments for all children.
We take great pride in offering a centre that is well-resourced and thoughtfully designed to support children’s learning and development. Our environments have recently undergone significant refurbishments and upgrades to ensure they are engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Each month, new equipment and educational materials are added to further enrich children’s experiences and extend their learning. The spaces provided for children not only meet all regulatory requirements but also offer ample room to comfortably accommodate the number of children we are licensed to care for.
That said, we are disappointed to hear that your experience did not reflect the standards we uphold. Your comments regarding hygiene, communication, and developmental support are taken seriously, and we are continuously working to ensure that every child receives the highest quality care.
However, after a thorough review of our enrolment records, we have been unable to locate any enrolment under your name, nor do the claims align with any recent documented concerns raised by families currently or previously enrolled with us in the last 12 months.
Additionally, we noted a review you posted for another local centre just two months ago, where you stated your child had been attending that service for over two years. This directly contradicts the timeline presented in your review of our centre, where you mentioned your child had only been enrolled at the other service for a couple of months following her time with us.
We respectfully highlight this inconsistency, along with significant discrepancies between your comments and our well-established hygiene and care practices, which are regularly reviewed and supported by external regulatory compliance checks.
If you were indeed a past client under a different name and have genuine concerns, we welcome you to contact the centre directly so we can discuss and resolve the matter appropriately and constructively.
The health, development, and well-being of the children in our care remain our top priority.
Warm regards,
Centre Management
