Pros: The physical environment is great. There’s plenty of outdoor space, and being next to the park is a real benefit for bush kindy and outdoor learning. Cons: The centre does not allow children to bring their own breakfast and also does not supply breakfast. The stated reason is allergy management, but in my experience other childcare centres manage allergies safely without needing a blanket ban. For families who work early shifts, this policy is somewhat impractical. The most concerning issue is the very high staff turnover. My child had four different kindy teachers within a single year. This level of instability is especially hard for quieter children who need consistency and strong relationships to feel secure. Apart from the admin staff and two long-term educators, most educators seem to stay only a few months, which suggests deeper management problems. For transparency: this review is definitely about this centre—Tarragindi Childcare and Development Centre on the corner of Prior Street and Toohey Road. I’m posting under an alias for privacy, but my child was enrolled here.

This daycare has been the best thing for our son. The staff are amazing and very supportive. At the end of the day he is always so happy. Could not recommend this daycare more!

Location: Although the centre is located in a convenient neighborhood, that’s about the only positive aspect. Facilities: The facilities are underwhelming. The indoor areas are cramped and poorly maintained, and the outdoor play area is downright boring. The yard lacks stimulating equipment and activities, making it a dull place for children to spend their time. Staff: The staff turnover is alarmingly high, which raises concerns about the stability and consistency of care. While some educators are caring, others seem disinterested and unengaged. This inconsistency can be unsettling for both children and parents. Additionally, there is no designated parking for staff, which adds to the inconvenience and frustration. Curriculum: The curriculum is lackluster and uninspired. Activities are repetitive, and there is a glaring lack of creativity in the programming. Children aren’t given enough opportunities to explore and learn in dynamic ways, which is disappointing for a childcare centre. Overall Experience: Tarragindi Development Childcare Centre falls short in many areas. The uninspiring facilities, high staff turnover, lack of parking for staff, and dull curriculum make it a less-than-ideal choice for parents seeking quality childcare. It may be worth considering other options that offer a more enriching and stable environment for your child.
