An incredible daycare! Everyone from management, the nursery educators, the toddler room educators room and even the chef were so welcoming and they truly felt like an extension of our family. We loved having our daughter attend daycare here. In her time she learnt so many new skills. We are regrettably leaving as we are moving to the other side of Brisbane. Couldn’t recommend Holland Park West World of Learning highly enough. Special mention to Kirstie, Kayla, Rowie, Amy, Anjani, Levi, Rachel.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and by experimenting. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play, water play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing!

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddler children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self confidence and emotional self regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning. A child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's development by engaging in rich discussions, introducing new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations, as well as singing, playing games, and reading with the children daily.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, is supported through group learning environments. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Lastly, ensuring that all children are ready for the ‘big school’ by preparing them for all that ‘big school’ has to offer.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.

Our centre offers children nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Meet the team

Hi my name is Kirstie and I am the Centre Manager here at Holland Park West World of Learning. I began my early childhood education and care career in 2008 at  and have a Diploma of Children's Services.

I grew up in a large extended family with lots of little cousins around me. So naturally, this led to working in the ECEC sector. I love all aspects of ECEC. However, my favourite part of working in the sector is the relationships you form with the children and their families. It's such a rewarding feeling knowing that the families trust in your abilities and knowledge enough to allow you to care for and educate their little people.

I have learnt that children are all different; they learn and develop in different ways and that it is up to us as their educators to evolve the way we deliver and develop our educational programs to suit these individual needs.

My approach to helping children along their learning and life journey is to provide as much love and support to each and every child, regardless of their personal challenges and upbringing. There is no judgement, only understanding and inclusion for all.

There are many learning benefits for a child attending a dedicated early childhood education centre like . I explain to families that their child's social skills while in care are crucial to ensuring that they have the best start possible with their school journey. For example, the environment can help them learn how to navigate the world of friendships and all the emotional challenges that come with them.

We have a close-knit team at Holland Park West who is more like a family. Everyone looks out for one another, which helps the team to work cohesively and with little fuss. In turn, our families pick up on this, which makes them feel comfortable and at ease whilst in the centre.

We also make sure families feel supported, and we offer many opportunities for families to provide input into how their child is cared for and what they learn. We also listen to all concerns and make the family feel heard and understood, doing all we can to accommodate their different needs. We make time to talk to the families, ask them about their weekends and interests and encourage them to share their own family adventures through photos shared within the children's rooms.

It is what it is, a G8 owned for-profit centre with everything that comes along with it. Educators are great and our kids loved them while there, that being said it’s clear they are overworked, under paid and are expected to post an excessive amount of content to the centre’s app. Which is time that really could be better spent. The educators deserve 6 stars, but their resourcing and general level of support is not good, and that the service is quite sterile/unengaged as a result. We left and are now at a not for profit centre and it’s at a completely different level in every way. We don’t know what they are doing all day, but when they come home it’s clear it’s been a full day and the bath water is often brown with dirt. It’s a shame that WOL is probably the standard or above standard. A passing grade is deserved but not more than that.

Response from the owner 28 Oct 2025

Hi Kristian, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that your family had positive experiences with our educators. We agree they are dedicated and passionate about providing quality care and learning for children. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously and are continually working to ensure our educators feel supported and that our environments remain engaging and welcoming for all children. We appreciate your perspective and will continue to review and improve our practices to deliver the best possible experience for families and educators alike. Kind regards, The World of Learning Team

My 2.5- year old daughter used to attend this center for 6 months. We have seen the trainers misbehaving the kids also they leaving kids unattended and unsupervised inside for long time while others are outside. My little one never settled with them there. I never recommend this center for your beloved child.

Response from the owner 15 Aug 2025

Hi Mahsa, we’re sorry to hear your family’s experience with us was not as positive as we aim to provide. The safety, supervision, and wellbeing of children is our highest priority, and our educators follow clear policies to ensure they are always cared for and treated respectfully. We remain committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children in our care. If you have further feedback, please do not hesitate to contact our centre directly. Kind Regards, The World of Learning Team
