We have had such a positive experience with Back 2 Basics Babies Room, and I couldn’t recommend the team enough.<br><br>A special mention to Sunita, the team leader, who is truly amazing. She is so kind, patient and caring with the babies, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about each child. She makes such an effort to build a personal relationship with every baby, understand their individual needs and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and supported.<br><br>As a mum, I’m always asking questions and staying in constant communication about my little one’s needs, and Sunita has never once made me feel like a helicopter parent. Instead, she is always so approachable, understanding and reassuring, which makes such a huge difference as a parent leaving your baby in someone else’s care.<br><br>Winnie is also absolutely wonderful, and it’s clear that the whole team is doing such a fantastic job with the children. They communicate so well with parents, are attentive to the children’s individual needs, and create an environment where you feel comfortable and confident leaving your little one.<br><br>Finding people you can genuinely trust with your baby is so important, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care and love they show. Our little girl started in the babies’ room when she was just 9 months old, and from day one, the staff have been absolutely wonderful.<br><br>Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is never easy, but the love, patience, kindness and genuine care shown by the educators made the whole experience so much easier for us. The staff have always made us feel comfortable and reassured, knowing that our little girl is in safe, caring and loving hands.<br><br>A special thank you to all the educators who have been part of her journey, from her very first days in the babies’ room. We started our journey with Back to Basics ELC in July when my son was just 5 months old, and we’ve had such a positive experience from the very beginning.<br><br>A huge shoutout to the amazing educators in the babies room! My son has absolutely flourished since starting care. It’s so lovely seeing how comfortable and happy he is with his educators and watching his confidence, curiosity and development continue to grow. You can really see the genuine relationships the educators build with the babies and how much they care for them.<br><br>One of the things I really love is how many experiences the babies get to be involved in. They’ve already had lots of little excursions and opportunities to explore outside of the centre, which is so special at such a young age. There have already been so many experiences in just a few months, and I know there are many more to come, we cannot wait!<br><br>Being a smaller centre also gives Back to Basics such a warm, homely and personal feel. The educators know the children and families, and there is a genuine sense of community.<br><br>We’re so happy with how far our little one has come since starting and are excited to continue watching him grow and flourish at Back to Basics. ❤️

Baby attended this childcare between May 2026 till June 2026.<br>Pros:<br>- Center at a good location + good parking space + safe.<br>- Managers reply to emails promptly.<br>- Transparency around fees+ CCS + 42 days of absence etc.<br>- Female- friendly child care centre.<br>- Serve halal food.<br>- Reasonable baby- friendly activities.<br>Cons:<br>- Very poor care in the baby room by educators.<br>- Do not follow parental instructions and educators do as they please. Can't even make baby formula properly despite providing step-by- step instructions on paper with pictures.<br>- Did not inform parents about the Communication Book during orientation or even after until I inquired and then suddenly it appeared.<br>- Did not have a First Baby Food Chart to follow through, I had to purchase and supply it. Again, educators fail to follow basic protocol.<br>- Very poor communication in-between staff of the baby room. Some other baby's item sent was sent in my baby's bag even though it was not even labelled with my daughter's name.<br>- Although staff is female, the entertainer who comes on Wednesday is a male. Should have informed parents.<br><br>Note: This review is Not for the Toddler Room as my baby was not old enough to attend yet. This review is based on the poor experience in the Baby Room.<br><br>Overall an extremely stressful experience for first time parents. Baby would attend one week and fall ill the following week. Dealing with a sick baby and following emails with management + constantly dealing with confused educators was so stressful that we eventually pulled our daughter out within a month.<br><br>After 2 months since leaving childcare, my baby is healthy again in my care. No more sickness. No separation anxiety. No financial strain. No more dealing with baby room educators' "mistakes".

Choosing a daycare for your children is such a big and emotional decision, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful that we found this centre. From the moment we walk in, we’re always greeted with genuine warmth, kindness and positivity. The educators put so much thought into using everyday resources creatively, helping the children learn, grow and develop in ways that feel natural and joyful. What really sets this centre apart is its smaller size. In a world of large, busy centres, this one feels calm, personal and deeply nurturing. Every child is truly seen, known and supported as an individual. The educators are incredibly trustworthy and always open, communicative and understanding. As someone without immediate family here in Melbourne, this centre has become a huge source of support for our family, it truly feels like a village. As a parent of fussy eaters, I can’t praise them enough for the meals and snacks they provide. Not only are they nutritious, but they’re genuinely delicious and my children actually eat them! Knowing my kids are being well nourished as well as cared for gives me such peace of mind. We feel so lucky to be part of the Back to Basics community. It’s more than a daycare…. it feels like family.

Back to Basics Early Learning Centre in Hoppers Crossing has been part of our family for over seven years. Both our children attended from as young as three months old, and the care, communication, and genuine personal attention have always been outstanding. This centre truly feels like a home, not a rulebook-driven childcare. We always felt safe and confident leaving our kids here. During a challenging time, the team even went above and beyond to help us with pick-ups and drop-offs—something they never had to do, but did out of pure care. Today was our youngest child’s last day, and it was emotional for all of us. If you live in Hoppers Crossing and they have availability, don’t look elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Our child has been attending Back To Basics since August 2024, starting in the baby room, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. A very special mention must go to Marie, who has been the primary educator looking after our little one. The level of hospitality, love, and genuine care Marie provides is exceptional. From day one, she has created such a comforting environment that we feel completely at ease leaving our child in her hands. It’s not just about care, though—the learning and development we’ve seen in our baby since joining have been wonderful. The warmth and dedication of the staff at this centre are truly what set it apart.
