Programs

Programs

At The Grove Academy, it's in our nature to nurture. We welcome children from 6 weeks to 5 years, with rooms for Babies, Toddlers, Junior Preschoolers and Preschool. Our play-based education program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and shaped by children's interests. Each month, educators plan learning experiences around what children are curious about. Our Grove Theory nurtures the whole child, through Grove Mind, Heart, Body, Compass and Expression. It covers problem-solving, friendships, wellbeing and nutrition, nature play and sustainability, and creative expression. Every family has access to our in-house Speech Pathologists, who are based in each centre about one day a week. We provide five nutritious meals each day.

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Our Preschool room (4–5 years) is a launchpad for lifelong learning. Learning there is hands-on and play-based, so children are ready for school socially, emotionally and cognitively. Our School Readiness program covers:

  • early literacy, including the Reading Eggs program
  • science and early numeracy
  • movement skills and healthy habits
  • social and emotional development
  • creative arts
  • independence and life skills, such as Lunch Box Week

Through our exclusive partnership with Ranger Jamie, children heading to school take part in hands-on 60-minute STEM incursions. We complete a School Readiness Checklist for each child twice a year. We also work closely with local primary schools and provide a Transition to School Statement.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Our custom TGA Parent Portal app was designed by TGA for TGA families, and it keeps you close to your child's day. In the app you'll find:

  • daily observations, photos and personalised "My Day" reflections
  • a Daily Journal and daily chart, covering meals, sleep and toileting
  • announcements and upcoming events
  • live chat

Each child also has an individual Learning Journey that celebrates their progress over time. You're welcome to chat with educators at drop-off or pick-up, or to contact us by phone, email or Portal chat. Before your child's first day, we organise an orientation visit. Our Family Relations team can help with your account and the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

Safety

Safety

At The Grove Academy, every child has the right to be safe and feel safe. Our educators work in teams and share responsibility for each child's care. Our rooms are designed for clear visibility and active supervision, and we use CCTV in shared areas. Every centre has secure entry systems and visitor verification. We take a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and neglect. All staff go through comprehensive recruitment and screening and mandatory child protection training, with annual refreshers. We monitor Working with Children Checks on an ongoing basis. We follow the National Model Code for taking images or videos of children, and personal phones are not allowed in learning environments.

We love this centre. Service was great under Oz Education but since the transition to The Grove Academy we have seen so much positive growth and change. The classrooms are beautiful. The director, Alana is lovely and very approachable. The educators are all lovely and kind. My children are thriving. Any feedback is addressed quickly and without any fuss. Nothing is ever too much to ask of them.
