My daughter has been loving going to John St Coop. When we enter the building and she sees where we are going her legs get super excited as I carry her down the hallway. She loves the atmosphere and the support from the educators and staff. You can tell that they really care about the children. 100% recommend and love that I decided to send my daughter here.

I can not recommend John Street Community Co-Op highly enough. We have been so grateful for the incredible kindness and support shown to both of our children, and to us as parents. The staff are like family, with so many of them being there for our eldest and youngest child. A wonderful community of kids, educators and parents - we'll be sad when our child leaves for school.

Our eldest son (now 3) started at John Street last year in the long daycare program. We had previously been living overseas and felt extremely welcomed and at ease throughout our son's orientation and transition into longer days at the centre. There is a very high retention of staff meaning that faces are always familiar, and you are immediately made to feel part of the John Street community. There are community events (including a welcome picnic, solstice party, trivia night, and working bees) throughout the year where the children and parents/guardians can socialise, which really contributes to the community feel. Our eldest is now in the integrated kinder program and he is thriving. Most children in the daycare program transitioned to the kinder program, which has helped our son to establish friendships and strong bonds with his educators and peer group. The teachers in the kinder program, especially in the 4yo class, focus on school readiness, and provide regular updates to caregivers on the children's learning and development. We feel so lucky to be part of the John Street community and couldn't recommend it more.

The co-op has an inimitable sense of community—it’s a place where children, families & educators all feel deeply connected and supported. The warmth, care & dedication shine through in everything they do, from the thoughtful programs to the genuine relationships they foster. A rare gem in the Inner North, this is a place where kids don’t just learn, but truly belong. We feel so lucky to be part of it!

Both our kids (5yo and 2yo) are in John st centre and we all (kids and parents) love it. It is so satisfying seeing our older one being so excited in the morning to go there to participate in the activities and play with his friends. It is a small centre where everyone know each others and we are part of an exciting small community full of events. It's also a very inclusive centre where everyone is welcome. Educators are amazing with a very stable team. They teach the kids to be independent while caring and helping their younger friends, preparing them so well for school.

The absolute best childcare centre. Being a community centre, they're focused on the well-being and growth of children, rather than profits. Educators are great, and there's little turnover. They support the children's strengths and interests (for example, in our case, championing them speaking French). They were also very supportive of our way of approaching solids and toilet training. The other families attending the centre are lovely, and so is the new director. Our girls have learned so much at John Street and feel loved and valued there.

John Street is a wonderful childcare center and kinder. My daughter has been going there for about a year and a half and absolutely loves it. The educators are skilled, friendly and caring and management and the board work really hard to ensure it's a wonderful place for children to play, explore and learn. I am so appreciative of the hard work and dedication of the entire John Street team.
