Sunrise is a wonderful kinder. The educators are caring, creative and exceptionally skilled. The environment is peaceful, warm and calm. You can feel the vibe as soon as you walk in. We all loved being a part of the sunrise community.

Kind hearted and dedicated carers and teachers. Intimate environment and plenty of attention spent on individual kids and their needs. Our daughter loves going to Sunrise

We have absolutely loved Sunrise for our two kids. The staff:children ration is great and better than most places. Extremely low staff turn-over, almost no casual staff. Amazing indoor-outdoor spaces and flow for the children to play.

This is the first Google review I have ever written, and I am writing it because I know how difficult it can be to choose a kindergarten when you have no personal recommendations or people around you who can share their experiences. When you are in that position, you often have nothing to rely on but Google reviews. I know how valuable an honest review from another parent can be, and I hope ours can help other families who are going through the same process.

Our experience with Sunrise has been truly exceptional, and this review comes from a genuine desire to recommend it to other families. We all know how important it is to find the right people to care for our children.

We arrived in Australia without a support network or anyone to help us navigate parenting in a new country, so choosing a kindergarten was particularly difficult. After visiting several places, we chose Sunrise because we could genuinely feel that the people there cared about children. We also noticed that the educators seemed to genuinely love what they do. We believe this is so important, especially when your work involves caring for little people. You want educators who do this because it brings them joy, because they care deeply about children's wellbeing, and because they find meaning in helping them grow. That is exactly what we have experienced at Sunrise.

Over time, Sunrise became like a family to us. We have felt incredibly supported, not only in caring for our son but also in navigating the challenges that come with parenting. One of the things we value most is how open and receptive the team has always been to our feedback. Whenever we shared concerns, observations, or things we were learning about our son, they listened with genuine interest and a willingness to understand, learn, and find better ways to support him. We never felt dismissed or that our concerns were a burden. Instead, we felt that we were working together as a team, with our son's best interests at heart.

The educators also created opportunities to share their observations with us and offer suggestions on how we could better support him at home. That kind of collaboration has meant so much to us as parents.

Our son has some challenges related to his neurodivergence, and we believe Sunrise is a genuinely inclusive environment. They understand that children are different, that not every child develops or experiences the world in the same way, and that each child deserves to be understood and supported as an individual. We have felt that they genuinely want to understand what makes each child unique and what they need to thrive emotionally and developmentally.

Finding a place where your child is not simply cared for, but truly seen, understood, and accepted, is incredibly precious. For our family, Sunrise has been that place.

We will always be deeply grateful to the entire team for the love, care, openness, and support they have given our son and our family. We wholeheartedly recommend Sunrise to any parent looking for a kindergarten where children genuinely matter. ❤️

About Sunrise Kindergarten and Long Day Care Centre

Funded 3 & 4 year old integrated Kinder and Long day care

Neo-Humanism is newly-explained humanism.

“Humanism” and “humanity” have been very popular words for the last century, and only human beings have come within the scope of humanism and humanity. But this explanation is not sufficient. It cannot quench the thirst of the developing human society.

As part of our neo-humanistic values, we also emphasise the importance and effect of diet on mind, behaviour and the well-being of our children and educators, hence our centres are all fully vegetarian (no egg, mushroom, garlic and onion).

Check out our website to broaden your understanding of our unique values and philosophy. https://sunrisepreschool.vic.edu.au

We have built a strong community that values Neo-Humanism, the right of a child’s play, meditation and yoga. All this, play a very important part of the education that makes us unique and well regarded in the community. Stepping outside our front gates is a big part of our day as we explore our local community and beyond. We have been exploring North Fitzroy since 2009 and we can proudly say ‘We know our neighbourhood’

Our intimate calm setting is one classroom with max. 22 children a day with an indoor and outdoor learning environment.

One of the goals of Sunrise Kindergarten is to develop this feeling of interconnectedness and to nurture a sentiment of love and respect for the environment and everything in it. This is accomplished through the application of the principles of Neo-Humanism in the classroom.

We open 48 weeks of the year (closed public holiday and 4 weeks at the end of the year) not for profit.
