We use the industry-leading Storypark platform to keep parents connected with their child’s learning. Through Storypark, families can view daily activities and interact with educators, fostering open communication and involvement in their child’s development.
For your convenience, we offer dedicated drop-off and pick-up car spaces located right outside our centre’s doors.

State Government Approved Programs
Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Our teachers tailor their programs to ensure all children develop the confidence and social and emotional skills needed for a smooth transition to school. Through play, our Early Childhood Teachers facilitate children’s learning of important language, literacy, numeracy and creative skills.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The educators embed teaching and learning into play experiences, helping the children to make sense of the world around them. This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills.
The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.
The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.
Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.
Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. Hi, I’m Scott Pope and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Heidelberg.
I have been a Centre Director previously for Goodstart in North Queensland before transferring to Melbourne in September 2023. I hold a Diploma of early childhood education and care and have been working in the industry since 2006, having worked as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader and Assistant Director before becoming a Centre Director.
My Early Learning values:
I believe the early years provide the necessary foundations for life, supporting children’s learning through social experiences as they explore the world around them. It is in the environments we create and as educators we support children wholistically as they grow and develop to their fullest potential.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Goodstart Early Learning Heidelberg. From the moment walked through the door, the staff made me feel so welcome and at ease. The educators are incredibly caring, attentive, and passionate about every child’s development and wellbeing. The learning environment is stimulating and thoughtfully set up, giving children the opportunity to explore, create, and grow at their own pace. I love how the program is play-based yet purposeful, and I can see my child thriving every single day. Communication from the team is always open and consistent Since Vicki joined as a new director, the centre has had such a wonderful new energy — her warmth and professionalism are felt by everyone.Staff looks more happier and relaxed She is approachable, passionate, and truly dedicated to the children and families in her care I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful centre and would highly recommend Goodstart Early Learning Heidelberg to any family looking for a safe, loving, and engaging place for their little ones

What once was a fabulous centre for my child, is slowly going down hill since the last director left and new director came on board. New director is rarely in the office & when she is she is non approachable. Educators in my child’s room are great, Admin lady in the office is very friendly, chef cooks great meals but the new director has been rude and obnoxious, any question we ask she palms off like she’s too busy

Chaos, a great centre gone down the drain since manager left. unfriendly junior manager and never in the centre new manager. We are happy to leave. Just not a nice place for kids anymore.

We love Goodstart Heidelberg! Both my children have gone there and they are so happy to go everyday. The office staff make you feel so welcome as soon as soon as you walk in and no query is ever an issue. The amazing educators there are so great with the kids. They understand all children are different but somehow manage it all seamlessly and all the kids look so happy when you walk in. We know our kids feel so happy and safe there and come home learning something new everyday.
