Best centre ever I went there when I was 1-5 and started primary in 2018 and I’m in highschool next year!

I have 2x kiddies at this centre, and it's so great! It has a small, community vibe that you simply don't get at bigger centres. We've been part of the WMCC since 2020 and always felt part of the family. The Educators are amazing here too, always up for a chat if I've ever had any questions. This year my son is in the pre-school room and they've really stepped things up with their current program.

I am sharing my honest experience with this center to help other parents make informed decisions. The quality of the experience at this center can vary, as it largely depends on the individual educator. While I have raised multiple concerns with the committee, their response has been inconsistent, sometimes they addressed the issues, while at other times, no action was taken. Miss Nicole, the former director, was exceptional. However, I ultimately decided to withdraw my child from the center due to incidents where my child was punched and bitten by other children. Although this occurred a few years ago, I felt it was important to share my experience to help parents evaluate whether this center is right for their child.

About Winston Mall Children's Centre

Welcome to Winston Mall Children's Centre!

Our community-based, not-for-profit, Long Day Care Centre operates from 7am-5;30pm, Monday to Friday and caters for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

WMCC offers competitive fees for families in our community and is overseen by an Executive Committee comprised of family members within our Centre.

From Birth to School

Our educators deeply care for children and love to watch them grow from babies to "big kids."  Winston Mall Children's Centre is divided into 3 age-based rooms - Joeys, Wallabies and Kangaroos - to cater for all needs and learning stages of the children.

As the children develop their skills they will progress through the rooms and eventually be ready to move onto indpendent learning at primary school.

Our curriculum

Our curriculum is approved by ACECQA and follows the Australian guidelines.

The program follows the National Quality Framework (NQF) and WMCC received a "Meeting Expectations" rating in 2014, validating our service as compliant with all childcare guidelines. Our compliance is always improving and we are striving for "Exceeding Expectations" at the next review.

We have many programs that enhance the learning experience of our children and make childcare fun.

Outdoor Learning

WMCC has a custom designed interactive sensory outdoor learning space.

This unique playground was enabled by a government grant honoured in 2018 for the benefit of our children and families.

The outdoor area focuses on 3 key themes:

  • sustainability
  • Indigenous culture
  • sensory learning
