Kuluin OSHC strives to provide children with opportunities to achieve quality educational outcomes through embedding a child led, play-based program within a safe and supportive environment, enhancing their individual development while acknowledging their capabilities and competency as facilitators of their own learning. This philosophy reflects the beliefs and values of The Kuluin School community. It draws on contemporary theories and research about children and educational processes.

Children achieve the most in environments where there are meaningful and supportive relationships among all partners in the community. Establishing positive relationships with children, families, educators, management and the wider community is essential. How we engage with each other and what we do and say has significant impact on how these relationships are established and enhanced.

Our educators and management believe that everyone has the right to be safe, the right to be respected and the right to learn. The staff, children and families accept the responsibility of ensuring that the United Nations Rights of the Child are acknowledged, upheld and strongly defended within our community. Through critical reflection, professional development and evaluative practice, we endeavour to provide an environment which supports families in the care and education of our most precious resource and our future – our children.
