  • Personalised learning plans for each child.
  • Local school connections.

We focus on strong family partnerships through regular learning and development conversations with your child’s lead educator, learning showcases, and in-centre family events. Our Xplor app provides real-time updates and learning summaries daily to keep you informed on your child’s journey.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi, my name is Kalani, and I am the Centre Manager here at Great Beginnings Cloverdale. Children are capable learners, and our role is to provide opportunities for them to inquire, explore, and investigate in meaningful ways.

I have been working in early childhood education since 2013 and hold a Bachelor of Education specialising in Science (Primary) and Arts (Early Years), as well as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. I began my career as a teaching assistant in my home country, Sri Lanka, and have since worked across Asia, the Middle East, and now Australia. Over the past 12 years, I have taken on roles including Team Leader, Early Childhood Teacher, Educational Leader, and Centre Director, building strong experience in both teaching and leadership.

Throughout my journey, I have learned something new every day, especially from children and their young minds. I continue to learn alongside children, families, colleagues, and the wider community. I believe every child is a masterpiece, worthy of our time, attention, love, and care. Children are capable learners, and our role is to provide opportunities for them to inquire, explore, and investigate in meaningful ways.

I believe early childhood education and care provides a social community and structured learning environment that supports children’s independence and acts as a bridge to school. It complements the learning that happens at home and helps children build confidence, relationships, and essential life skills. I am proud to work with an experienced, long-standing, and multicultural team that is dedicated to providing high-quality education and care. Together, we create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children and families.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our beautiful centre in Cloverdale, where quality education is always our priority.

If only I can give 0 star i will. My kids and I went to this centre for a tour. The ACM is not present and one of the staff at the front desk without introducing herself or whatever. When we entre the centre. she said to us “ just want to let you know we can only offer friday to your kids”. And I’m like what do you mean? We already enrolled and GBC confirmed that we got the days we wanted. Obviously they are no communications in this centre. Staff are not welcoming! Then she take us for a tour and she only show us 2 rooms. She was like this room is for my son this room is for my other kid. She didnt even tour around the centre. Before the tour I asked the Acm if they taking casual booking, she said yes, they can accept extra booking in advance and at the moment they are flexible. So I booked extra day for my kids as soon as my kids enrolment was confirmed. A week after she rejected it. And she emailed me that she cant accept the extra day because of full capacity. And she can only accept my other kid booking. The reason why I enrol my kids because she said they are flexible for bookings at the moment. But now this centre is not flexible anymore after the enrolment. This is very disappointing!

Response from the owner 17 Apr 2026

Hi Angelica, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating and disappointing this situation would have been for you and your family. At the time of your visit, our centre was managing a very high volume of enquiries and tours due to the unexpected closure of a nearby service. This created a fast-moving and, at times, challenging environment as many families were urgently seeking care. While this does not excuse your experience, it does provide some context around the circumstances on the day. We understand there was confusion regarding your enrolment and booking days. Unfortunately, due to the way information was communicated and transferred during this period, not all details were visible to our team at the time of your visit. This meant the educator who greeted you was not aware that placements had already been discussed, and provided availability based on what was current at that moment. In relation to casual bookings, these are always subject to availability. With the sudden increase in enrolments, some rooms reached capacity quickly, which limited our ability to accommodate additional days. We also apologise that your tour felt rushed and that you did not feel welcomed. This is not the standard of experience we aim to provide, and we will be addressing this with our team to ensure all families feel supported and informed from the outset. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and regret that your experience did not reflect the level of care and communication we strive for. Kind regards, Great Beginnings Cloverdale
