As a mum of three boys who have attended this wonderful childcare centre over the past 7 years I can’t speak highly enough of the care and dedication the educators show every day. My sons have all absolutely loved coming here. They are always happy, learning new things, and surrounded by kindness in this centre. I want to give a special mention to Morium, who has been an incredible educator and such a positive influence on my boys. She’s patient, caring, and genuinely invested in my sons wellbeing and growth. I was disappointed to see a recent negative comment about her because it doesn’t reflect the amazing experience we’ve had. Morium has always been professional, assertive and consistent, and I am so grateful for everything she does. I trust that my son is in good hands when she is working with him. I’d also like to praise some more amazing staff and educators here including Kiara, Kate, Maddie, Brooke and Taylor. I have honestly never had a negative experience here and really feel that this centre is a truly nurturing environment. I wouldn’t want my children anywhere else!

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years

Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Preschool year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Preschool year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Jessica, and I am the Centre Manager here at Great Beginnings Gregory Hills. I have been involved in the ECE sector since 2008. Through hard work and dedication I have excelled in my career and found my true calling in life. I hold a Certificate III and Diploma in Children’s Services and currently enrolled in Macquarie University completing a Bachelor of Teaching.

I believe the environment plays a major role in the success of an early childhood program as it enhances the children’s learning in all developmental areas. I endeavour to help each child understand they have the right to belong and contribute to many communities, groups and the greater world around them whilst having a shared responsibility for natural and built environments.

I am passionate about leading our team of caring and professional educators in creating an environment that provides security and growth for the children and their families. The team brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and qualifications to adequately support each child’s needs.

I am to be forever passionate, patient, caring, fair, fun, educated and available to the team, children and their families. I will be guided by policies, procedures and regulations to the best of my knowledge and ability at all times.

Going on week 5 of an issue with NEGLECT, although if you suffer the same as me, my wife and my Child, you’ll be explained the difference between “intentional and unintentional neglect” and “Bad Practices” this centre is a joke , we’re going on week 5 and the centre manager has a avoided my wife now for 2 days after they’ve got back to us with a scripted “this was unintentional situation” I am deeply frustrated , disappointed and upset that a centre YOU PAY MONEY TO will neglect your kids, not care about the situation and still ask you for your money, this centre has been a joke, their head office is a joke and I suggest if you want your kids to be looked after correctly and not be told “that’s just bad practices and not neglect” I suggest you put your child in ANY OTHER CENTRE. And if you’re a parent reading this who’s child currently attends this centre I deeply urge you to reconsider, cause as it may not have happened to you yet, it probably will in the future.

In relation to my previous review posted a week ago, and in response to your centres response: Your website literally says that there is a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and neglect, yet somehow my son’s incident is the exception. Asking other parents to come forward with positive reviews in attempts to either wash mine out or keep your ratings up, is hilarious. Just because others have positive experiences with Miss Morium, does not disregard the fact that she has neglected my son in the past. In the most recent incident, she was 1 of 3 educators that were named in this. Miss Taylor was also named as one, however we have ALWAYS loved having her as our son’s educator because she showed us that she really cared… and my son felt that and would always come home and speak good about her. See. Just because I post a negative review does not mean I can’t see the light in others. Did either of them come forward and own up to what happened to my son? We have no clue. Because although we have every right to know who did this, why, and when, no one is telling us a single thing. Which leads me to my next point, you say we can reach out and speak privately however you have been unresponsive to my emails after several attempts to get to the bottom of this. And as mentioned in my emails, we will not stop until something is done. We look forward to meeting with you and your Area Manager today.

I was hesitant when we first began here, however my son has settled in well and seems to enjoy himself. I must say Miss Morium has been such a pleasant role model for my boy. She has assisted us in toilet training and her patient and caring nature is noticed by many (there’s usually a line up wanting her at drop off) . The director and staff are very compassionate and professional, with a warm welcome every morning by the kitchen staff Kiara and others. I would recommend great beginnings.

Response from the owner 11 Nov 2025

Thank you for your kind words recognising Miss Morium, Kiara and our amazing team, this truly makes our day.
