Children receive their own My Learning and Development Book, which is updated regularly with their progress.

To BE Me is underpinned by Guardian’s world class teaching program that has been developed over many years of research and thousands of hours observing how children develop.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

We believe in nutrition for life, supporting children to develop healthy eating habits from an early age. Qualified Chefs and Cooks in our centres create fresh and nutritious meals each day, using seasonal, high-quality ingredients that align with Australian Dietary Guidelines.

Meals are designed to be delicious, introduce children to diverse flavours, and make eating healthy food a positive experience.

Managing allergies and intolerances is part of how we keep mealtimes safe and enjoyable. Every child’s needs are carefully tracked, meals are supervised by permanent educators, and allergens are strictly controlled.

Beyond providing wholesome food, we use mealtimes as learning opportunities. Children practice independence by serving themselves and engaging in conversations about food, building confidence and understanding of healthy choices.

Thanks to the Guardian Childcare & Education Wollert team for welcoming and assisting my toddler into childcare for the first time. The team have been understanding, informative, and supportive from the tour, orientation and to my child’s first day. I look forward to seeing my child grow and learn while in their care.

My son attended Guardian Childcare & Education Wollert for approximately three months when he was 2.5 years old. I enrolled him because I wanted him to socialize with other children, build confidence, and enjoy a positive childcare experience. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and I ultimately decided to withdraw him. At first, the staff appeared caring and attentive. However, after the first few weeks, I became increasingly concerned about the level of care my son was receiving. On several occasions when I picked him up, his nose, face, mouth, and clothing were covered in dried mucus. It was clear that his nose had not been cleaned for a long period of time, and as a young child, he would wipe it on his sleeves because nobody appeared to be helping him. I raised this concern with management after the first incident. I explained that parents trust educators to provide basic care and hygiene while their children are in childcare. I was assured that the issue would be addressed. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again. My husband picked up our son and found him with dried mucus on his face and clothing, mixed with dirt and sand from play. He also raised the concern with staff, but despite apologies, we did not see any lasting improvement. Another incident that concerned me happened while I was collecting my son. As I was gathering his belongings and getting him ready to leave, he briefly ran to a toy box to pick up a toy. An educator called out to him very loudly from behind to stop him from touching the toys. The volume and tone startled my son so much that he jumped in fright, immediately left the toy box, and ran back to me. It was upsetting to witness. I raised this concern with management as well. The explanation given was that the educator was naturally a loud person. However, I did not find that response acceptable. Being naturally loud does not justify speaking to young children in a way that frightens them. Children deserve to be spoken to with patience, kindness, and respect. What made this incident particularly concerning to me was that it happened while I was present. As a parent, it naturally made me wonder how children are spoken to when parents are not there to witness it. This is my personal concern based on my own experience. I understand that caring for young children can be busy and challenging. However, basic hygiene, attentive care, and respectful communication should be fundamental parts of any childcare service. Unfortunately, the care my child received did not meet my expectations despite my concerns being raised more than once. The centre itself is clean, modern, and well-presented, which initially gave us confidence. However, our personal experience with the day-to-day care of our child did not match the impression presented. I also regularly noticed children crying when arriving or leaving the centre. While I understand that children sometimes become upset in childcare settings, combined with my other concerns, it added to my discomfort. This review reflects only my family's personal experience at Guardian Childcare & Education Wollert. Other families may have different experiences. However, based on what I personally observed and experienced, I was not satisfied with the level of care provided to my child, and I chose to remove him from the centre before the three-month period was complete. 💔💔

We are so grateful for the wonderful care and support our son has received over the year. The educators are caring, dedicated, and genuinely invested in each child's development. The facilities are modern, well-maintained, and always clean, and the meals provided are varied and enjoyed by the children. We've seen our son grow in confidence, social skills, and independence during his time here. Thank you to the amazing team for making his early learning journey such a positive experience. Highly recommended!
