Our childcare centre focuses on early education, and we embrace the developmental milestones of children aged 6 weeks through to 5 years old. We also offer 3 and 4 Year Old Kindergarten Programs to prepare your child for primary school.
Our centre is conveniently located just a 2 minute drive from both Clarinda Primary School and Oakleigh South Primary School. We have plenty of onsite parking too, for convenience at pick up and drop off times.

At Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South, the Educators believe the early years of a child’s life are a time of incredible growth and opportunity. This is where young children begin to build a foundation of learning and independence that helps to assist them to become confident lifelong learners.
It is important that everything a child experiences becomes a valuable learning opportunity, as this forms the basis of their development, learning, and wellbeing for the rest of their life.
The Educators believe children learn most effectively when they are relaxed and having fun in a safe and protected learning environment. They aim to recognise the importance of these early years, and aim to provide an appropriate environment that is safe, relaxed, warm and nurturing, whilst ensuring each child, family and Educator feels a sense of belonging.
The Educators at Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South believe that play develops dispositions necessary for learning in the future. Children need to develop their sense of curiosity, creativity, resilience and cooperation to become confident learners. These can be achieved through play experiences such as exploration, investigation, and socio-dramatic play which are then furthered by Educators’ interaction.
The children are cared for in the following groups:
At Imagine Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South, the children enjoy a wide variety of seasonal and local produce, with a menu that provides more than half of their daily nutrition requirements. The centre works in consultation with families to accommodate any child’s allergies, intolerances, their cultural background or other family preferences.
Mealtimes provide an important opportunity for children to develop good eating habits and learn about nutrition and food variety. They are also an important time for social interaction with other children and adults.
The Educators adopt meal time strategies to teach children about good nutrition. These include things like involving children in creating the menu, encouraging younger children and toddlers to talk about healthy food choices, providing children with opportunities to eat food and engage in the mealtime routines of different cultures, talking with children about nutritious food during mealtimes.
Some of the children’s favourite lunches include Moroccan pork on couscous, beef empanadas with fresh garden salad, spaghetti bolognese, and Thai chicken curry with rice. The parents don’t miss out either, with the centre’s own barista providing fresh coffee and a baked treat every morning upon drop-off to make mornings easier.
Morning
Simone is nine months old and starts her day outside in the play area with her Educator and friends. Her Mum enjoys a coffee and chats to the Educators before she heads off to work.
Lunchtime
Simone is enjoying some books with her favourite Educator, while she has some milk. Soon it will be time to head into the sleeping area for a rest.
Afternoon
All of the children are outside today for a special visit from some farm animals. Simone pats a duck and a little lamb.
Morning
Josh is two and a half years old and can’t wait for the toddler’s excursion to the Oakleigh Fire Station. Josh walks with his friends and they talk about sitting in the truck and turning on the siren.
Lunchtime
Josh and his friends head outside to the playground for some afternoon fun. The children make the most of the equipment with lots of climbing and jumping, before they start riding the bikes.
Afternoon
All of the toddlers sit together on the mat for storytime with the local librarian who has come to visit. She reads three stories to the children and then invites them to draw a picture of their favourite part.
Morning
Emma is four and a half years old and today the children are going on an excursion to the local aged care facility. Emma has some drawings to give to the residents and the children have prepared a song to sing.
Lunchtime
Today Emma is helping the centre chef with some cooking for the children’s afternoon tea. She sprinkles cheese on top of the scrolls and then watches as the chef bakes them in the oven.
Afternoon
Emma and her friends head outside for some fun on the equipment. Emma digs in the sandpit with her friend and then they use the sand to make a village for their toys.

I moved my son to Imagine one year ago and it’s been the best decision. He has learnt so much, always coming home and telling us different information he’s learnt about the world or different things his learnt in their art class. The staff are lovely and caring, and engage the children outside with games. My son loves playing ball games with the teachers. Leah, the Manager is very understanding and helpful. Worth doing a tour!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Imagine Childcare Oakleigh South! Our eldest has been attending for over 3 years, and now our youngest has just started in the Nursery. The centre truly feels like a second home for our family. Leah, the Centre Director, is fantastic, approachable, professional, and genuinely invested in every child’s development. Abi, the Assistant Director, is always friendly, organised, and helpful, she makes communication effortless and ensures everything runs smoothly. In the Junior Kinder room, Bijal and Bryony have been amazing educators. They are nurturing, patient, and creative, helping our child grow in confidence and curiosity every day. In the Nursery, Bee and Angela are both so caring, genuine, and nurturing. Bee’s warm and welcoming nature is one of the main reasons we decided to enrol our second child there. Together, they’ve made the transition smooth and reassuring for our little one and for us as parents. And Toni, the chef, does a wonderful job providing healthy and delicious meals with great variety — we truly appreciate the thought that goes into the menu each day.
