About Goodstart Early Learning Mount Nasura

Goodstart Mount Nasura caters to children aged 8 weeks to 5 years in a friendly and caring environment. Staffed by an expert team of dedicated educators, the children’s interests and strengths are nurtured. Through a Early Years Learning Framework approach, the educators ensure the children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically, setting them up for success in their school years and beyond.

The outdoor playspace is a favourite among the children. There is plenty of shade for sun safe play and a range of engaging equipment including cubby house and sandpits, veggie gardens and worm farm. As they play, they are able to build their gross motor skills and coordination.

Inside, each room is bright and inviting, resourced with colourful materials and equipment. This helps the children to develop foundational skills that empower them to use their creativity and imagination. The children can paint, draw and enjoy music and movement experiences.

Located off the Albany HWY, the centre is just a short walk from nearby bus stops. There is also parking available on site. Why not book a tour of this community-minded and engaging centre today?

Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

The educators are lifelong learners, participating in regular and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector. They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.

We can't speak highly enough of the care provided to my children by the staff at this centre. Both of our kids started here at around 8 months of age and in that time have not only received excellent care from fantastic staff but have also learnt a lot and made some great friends in a fun and supportive environment. We also receive regular updates and photos on their progress.

Absolutely adore this place and their wonderful staff! Both my boys started at the age of 2, one of them is now 8, and my second who is 3 is still there with a fair few familiar faces which is great! The friendships and growth in both boys proves just how good the relationship with the staff and other children are there.

Response from the owner 13 Jun 2024

Thank you for your 5-star review, Tayla! We're thrilled to have been part of both your son's early learning journeys from a young age. We take pride in fostering friendships and growth and appreciate you acknowledging the familiar faces that create a stable and supportive environment. Thank you for choosing Goodstart Mount Nasura!

As a parent accessing childcare for the first time I relied on parent/carer reviews to help determine whether this centre would be suitable. For this reason I feel it’s important to leave this one star review to capture our experience since it seems to be so different to a majority of others. Although in hindsight, the other one star reviews referencing poor administration clearly had some merit. We personally had issues with allergy management, communication and on-boarding. Without going into specifics, it was serious enough to capture the attention of ECRU – so not simply an unfounded complaint from a disgruntled parent. After leaving we provided our feedback not only to the centre but to the Goodstart head office and regional manager – which has yet to be acknowledged after 5 weeks. I think that provides all the information you need to know about the Goodstart brand when they can’t even be bothered to acknowledge the seriousness of our complaint. Probably too busy posting memes on Facebook. I’d encourage anyone to tour multiple centres and do as many orientations as you need. Ask questions. If you’re not satisfied with their response, seek care elsewhere. We persisted for way too long despite multiple incidents, red flags and questionable practice. After starting at a new day care the ineptitude of the Goodstart management has become even more evident. There are good day cares out there, but in our experience this is certainly not one of them. Edit: It's been about 9 months since we've left the centre and no one from Goodstart (the centre or head office) has reached out to acknowledge my complaint. I've noticed they've replied to all of the positive feedback but have ignored others. Makes you think that malpractice is a common occurrence and they're strategy is to just ignore it! Do better.
