About Mini Masterminds Thornleigh

At Mini Masterminds Thornleigh, our dedicated team of Educators focus on bringing out the best in every Mini, in a caring and nurturing environment. Catering to our Minis from 6 weeks to 5 years, the centre delivers holistic play-based programs that foster creativity, school readiness skills and a lifelong love of learning.

In our purpose-built centre, spaces have been carefully designed to be comfortable, cosy and sensory. Our Minis play and learn in beautiful light-filled rooms, while our Educators oversee exciting activities including Literacy, Art and Yoga. The holistic program nurtures cognitive skills and general wellbeing, while allowing our Minis to flexibly learn at their own pace.

With a focus on both indoor and outdoor learning, the wonderful playground has been designed as an adventure wonderland. Our Minis explore and discover the cubby house, bike paths, and other exciting play equipment. Our Minis also take part in exciting, hands-on lessons about nature and sustainability.

All Mini Masterminds enrolled families at our centres receive complimentary Happy Families Memberships, led by renowned parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson. This gives you access to a wide range of trusted parenting tools, resources, and webinars—designed to support you every step of your parenting journey.

All preschool children at our centres receive FREE access to Reading Eggs and Mathseeds – interactive programs used in NSW schools to support early literacy and numeracy development in a fun and engaging way.

With a central location and underground parking on site, pick ups and drop offs will be quick and easy. Why not book a tour of our welcoming centre today?

Programs

Mini Masterminds sees innovation as a driver for development in our Minis. The inclusive extra-curricular activities encourage diversity and inclusion, ensuring every Mini feels accepted as they play and learn.

Our Minis have access to the latest equipment to encourage creative free play and holistic development. All activities are included as part of the daily fee, including:

Sports Program: For our Minis aged 3 and up, the centre offers the ‘Mini Champions’ sports program. This encourages our Minis to gain fitness regardless of their athletic ability, and helps build self-esteem and confidence.

Language Program: Our Minis are taught languages from native speakers at the centre, further developing and strengthening their cognitive function, problem-solving skills and cultural awareness.

Cooking Program: Our Minis can take part in the ‘Mini Chefs’ cooking class, a fun hands-on class that encourages our Minis to experiment in the kitchen while learning about basic cooking techniques and smart food choices. These classes teach kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practices.

Yoga Program: Each week our Minis aged 2 and up take part in ‘Mini Yoga Club’ at the centre. This practice is associated with learning, memory and regulating emotions, and it helps children learn positivity and self-acceptance.

Regular Excursions: Our Minis can extend their learning outside of the centre by taking part in excursions. Some examples include the Easter Show and visiting local parks for a picnic day.

In-House Incursions: Special visitors to the centre can share a wealth of knowledge with our Minis, as they can learn, discover and explore new and exciting things. Some incursions include native wildlife and reptile visits, petting zoos, dentists visits and cultural exploration with visits from Indigenous artists.

Meet Emma – Centre Director at Mini Masterminds Thornleigh

"I believe that children are the future. I’m passionate about supporting their learning and development through play, building strong relationships with families, and seeing each child’s confidence soar. I’m also a strong advocate for educator wellbeing and training—because quality care starts with a passionate, supported team. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and I’m committed to creating the most caring, connected village possible." – Emma.

With 13 years of experience in the early childhood sector, Emma brings energy, empathy, and deep expertise to her role. She has worked across all levels of a centre - from trainee to Director - and was proudly awarded ‘Leader of the Year’ in 2024 within Mini Masterminds. A former dance teacher and studio owner, Emma brings creativity and leadership to everything she does - along with the perspective of being a devoted mum herself to two little ones.

At Mini Masterminds Thornleigh, Emma leads a diverse and multilingual team, with educators fluent in languages such as Mandarin and Russian, supporting families from all backgrounds and promoting early language development. The centre features both open and covered outdoor play areas, allowing for rich, nature-based experiences in every season- even on rainy days.

Under Emma’s leadership, Mini Masterminds is more than a learning space- it’s a supportive, passionate community where children and families feel empowered, valued, and ready to thrive.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

As a family-owned and operated centre, Mini Masterminds builds strong connections with centre families and the wider community.

By taking a collaborative approach with parents and the community, the centre encourages diversity and inclusion. This ensures that every Mini feels accepted and part of the Mini Masterminds ‘family’.

Parent feedback helps inform programs, which aim to build confident, independent and active learners. The centre invites families to drop in and speak to educators. Families also participate in special events and cultural celebrations throughout the year.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

In addition to the national curriculum, Mini Masterminds is proud to have developed a bespoke curriculum in consultation with well-regarded Early Childhood Teacher, Jacob Camilleri.

Central to this is a unique Prep School Program which exposes children to the NSW Foundation Font. It also focuses not just on the Early Years Framework but also the Early Stage 1 curriculum. By merging the Pre-school and Kindergarten lessons, the children will have a head start when it comes to their formal schooling.

The focus of the curriculum is on play-based learning, which ensures each Mini develops, understands and takes responsibility at their own pace. The centre does away with the dated early learning methods of set lesson plans. Instead, it embraces individuality, personal growth and current abilities, allowing each Mini to comfortably develop in a warm, secure and supportive environment.

The centre’s programs allow for our Minis to move freely around the activities, making their own unique choices, while ensuring that all key learning areas are promoted and explored. The overall aim of the curriculum is to develop our Mini's independence, while fostering confidence in communication and learning.

I do not recommend Mini Masterminds as a company. Especially to work for. Disappointing experience. HR and management not supportive at all - do not care about they employees Any educators - keep away and search for work in different companies! EDIT. To make a reply for a management. I strongly doubt that you guys make a team of strong people. Mini Masterminds has a huge staff turnover. How many cooks have you had since opening? I see posts on Facebook to hire new person.

Response from the owner 17 Feb 2025

Hi Lukasz, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly appreciated your contributions during your time with us and are sorry that a job opportunity was not available at our new Thornleigh location. We strive to build a team of dedicated and passionate educators, and we wish you nothing but success in your culinary journey. Kind Regards, Mini Masterminds Thornleigh

very bad experience! They don’t separate toddlers with big children. It is dangerous and unfair for young children. It is harmful for their safety and wellbeing because big boys always make fun at young children. I saw several times and I have evidence but they still didn’t resolve this problem yet

This is my comment review for Richard, my kids were with his care for years and they are absolutely happy and love him, Richard is very professional, polite and kind, he was teaching my kids how to deal with their emotional stress when they started, teach them how to respect other kids, often informed parents about they days, he is so wonderful and great educators who understand and always support parents during the kids development stages,
