Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

We have had such a wonderful experience here at Goodstart Wenty. My daughter has settled in so well. The educators have been so warm and supportive, and it’s clear that my daughter has already formed lovely bonds with them. One thing I genuinely appreciate is the time the staff take to share how her day went. Hearing about the little moments, activities, and how she’s feeling shows their passion and dedication to each child’s wellbeing. I also love how the babies are exposed to such a wide range of experiences throughout the day. Our absolute favourite has to be the sensory and messy play activities. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and create such a positive environment. It already feels like a second home for us, and we feel very grateful knowing she’s in such caring hands.

Our experience with this daycare has been mixed. On the positive side, the teachers are great, experienced and supportive and we appreciated the effort put into the curriculum and learning activities for the children. The educators themselves seem dedicated and do their best with the resources available. One of the biggest issues is the limited play area and overall space. The centre operates out of a converted residential house, and it often feels overcrowded for the number of children enrolled. Another aspect that didn’t sit well with me is the approach of running a daycare in a small residential setup without sufficient space while maintaining large waitlists and continuing to fill the center to maximum capacity. At times it feels like the large waitlist is showcased as proof of how “great” the daycare is, when in reality the facilities and space may not adequately support the number of children attending. We also noticed hygiene concerns & food quality concern as my daughter would occasionally come home feeling unwell and even vomit after returning from daycare- which was very concerning for us as parents.

Response from the owner 13 Mar 2026

Hi Shaleen, thank you for acknowledging the care and dedication of our educators. Our team works hard to provide meaningful learning experiences and a supportive environment for children and families. We were surprised to read your feedback, as concerns of this nature were not raised with the centre during your time in our community, which was some time ago now. Our centre operates in line with all regulatory requirements for space, ratios, hygiene, and food safety standards, and the health and wellbeing of children is always our highest priority. Our team also takes great pride in the quality of the meals prepared by our centre chef, which is something many families value highly. If you would like to discuss your feedback further, we would welcome the opportunity. Please contact the centre, our Family Support Team on 1800 222 543.

I honestly can’t recommend Goodstart Wentworthville enough. We’ve been part of this community for eight years straight now. Our daughter was here for five years and our son is currently in his fourth. When you’ve been going to the same place every morning for nearly a decade, you really get to see the bones of a center and these guys are the gold standard. The staff here are just incredible. They’re genuinely invested in kids. It’s such a relief to drop your kids off knowing they’re with people who actually know their quirks and little personalities. Many of the educators have been there for both my kids, which says a lot about the culture and consistency of the place. The center itself always feels bright, clean and full of energy. My kids have always loved the outdoor areas. There’s always some new sensory setup or activity that keeps them curious. It never feels like daycare, it feels like a place where they actually get to explore and be messy and have fun. One of my favourite things about this center is how they embrace every culture. They do such a beautiful job with multicultural celebrations and festivals. Whether it’s Lunar New Year, Diwali or NAIDOC Week, my kids come home buzzing with excitement about new traditions, foods and stories. It’s taught them so much about the world around them in a way that feels like one big party. The transition to big school was a huge win for us. By the time my daughter finished her preschool year here, she was so ready. She walked into Kindergarten with the confidence and social skills she needed to thrive right away. I can already see my son heading in that same direction. It’s been a joy to watch my kids grow up in such a fun, nurturing and vibrant space.
