I want to be fair. When I first started at Guardian Childcare seven months ago, it was great. The educators were, and still are, amazing. This review is not about them. This is about the management. As a single parent of two, fleeing domestic violence of 7 years and working full time, I was already carrying more than most. The daily rate went from $155 to $188, and when my ex refused to pay childcare, the debt climbed to over $2,500 that I had no idea about until it got there. Money I didn't have. I was eligible for ACCS and did everything right. I left work during my hours to go to Centrelink, involved a JP, jumped through every hoop because the centre told me they couldn't process it. Centrelink told me directly that Guardian Childcare could, and were required to. I never got it. The $2500 was paid and I was also paying $220 a week out of pocket for the extra day I needed, on top of everything else. What hurt the most wasn't the money. It was the way the Centre Manager, Assistant Manager and another lady made me feel during one of the hardest periods of my life. I felt like I didn't exist, less of a person, a number. Since moving my son to a new daycare, the difference in how families are genuinely supported is night and day and that contrast has made this experience even harder to sit with. The educators gave my son so much love, and I'm truly grateful for just them. But management failed our family completely, affected my mental health as a mother and I think other parents in vulnerable situations deserve to know that.

My son and we love the educators and the centre. The management is amazing in facilitating everything for the my son. My son loved this place from day one. We are thankful for all the lovely educators who cares for my son like their own.

My son has grown so much in confidence and learning since starting, and it’s clear he feels safe and happy there. We’ve had such a great experience with Guardian Newstead. From our first viewing to now, a year in, the centre has always felt welcoming and well organised - Reagan, the manager, does an amazing job. The educators are kind, patient, and genuinely care about each child. My son has settled in well and is becoming more confident by the day. Communication is great, and the environment feels safe and nurturing. We’re so grateful to have found somewhere like Guardian for our family!

My daughter loves this place. She's been coming here for three years and has just begun kindy. We moved away for a while and tried a closer daycare but the difference was night and day. That place was underfunded and understaffed. The staff were fine but unable to keep on top of problems. We decided it was worth the hour drive to get our daughter back here until we could move back to the area. Every thing about this place is perfect and the staff have been kind with me during some "exhausted mummy"times when I've needed help with the paperwork.

Gloria and Bella have been part of Guardian at Newstead since they were babies, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better place for them to grow. The educators are amazing—so caring and patient—and they’ve created such a warm, welcoming environment. Our girls have learned so much, made beautiful friendships, and always come home happy and excited to share what they’ve done. The communication is fantastic too—updates, photos, and little stories that make us feel connected even when we’re at work. We’re so grateful for everything the team has done for our family. If you’re looking for a daycare that feels like a second home, this is it! 💜

We’ve had a really positive experience with Guardian Childcare in Newstead. The team has always been warm, professional, and clearly dedicated to the wellbeing and development of the children. Since Reagan stepped in as Centre Manager, we’ve noticed a new level of consistency and calm across the board. Her leadership has brought a real sense of stability that’s been great for both staff and families. The educators genuinely care about the kids and build lovely relationships with them. Communication with parents is clear and consistent, and we always feel informed about how our child is doing and what they’re learning. The activities are varied and age-appropriate, and the environment is safe, clean, and thoughtfully set up. Our child is happy and settled there, which is really all we could ask for. We feel confident dropping them off each day, knowing they’re being well cared for and engaged. Highly recommend to other families in the area

Just took my family in for a tour, was greeted by the amazing Reagan who was so helpful and welcoming, this will be our first time putting our child in daycare so we where a little scared at the start but after Reagan gave us the tour and run down we are very confident he will love this place and the people in it!!!
