I’ve worked in the early childhood industry for over 10 years- We pulled our son out of this centre for a few reasons. The combined yard outside for 2-5 years old reminded us of ‘lord of the flies’ it was crazy. He often got upset because the big kids were so fast and noisy that he wanted to sit inside away from it all. The biggest reason for us is that on 3 separate occasions our son came home with cute and grazes and the educators knew nothing about it! The worst one was when he had a graze on his back (possibly from falling backwards) he didn’t want to go back. Poorly run service. Would have liked to have seen the educators take on board our concerns and apologise for missing the accidents. In my opinion not really good enough.

Our family loves Swinburne. The staff are amazing and we always feel that our child is supported and has lots of fun. We love that the children spend so much time in the outdoors exploring and playing together.

A wonderful community and family-focused early learning centre. This is a small centre (only three rooms), where all of the staff not only know your child, but know you as the parent too. We have found Swinburne Children’s Centre (Norton Street) to be a fantastic place for our child to grow and develop enormous amounts of skills in an environment that offers exploration and play completely different to what we can offer them at home. An emphasis of child-led learning, outdoor play, healthy eating and community-focussed values. Transitioning into daycare is never easy, but the Swinburne staff welcomed us helped our entire family (kid and adults!) feel comfy with the process. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.
