If I could give 0 stars I would!

Fees are disgustingly high (initially I signed up here thinking with the high fees will be exceptionally high service of care, boy was I wrong)

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR KIDS!!!

Especially if you’ve got 0-2 year olds…
Head educator of that room, Julia - she’s apparently a baby ambassador too. Appalling, disgusting and extremely unprofessional behaviour.

My child went there for 5 weeks, the staff are not welcoming.

But we encountered two incidents here which results to an instant withdrawal from this centre.

First incident, my child had a bruise, I queried the next morning at drop off. Head educator, Julia was working and quickly responded with “I wasn’t working yesterday afternoon, I’ll speak to the team and when you pick up child, ask the afternoon staff”
To which I did, at pick up, asked and the educator Kamal attempted to blame us (the parents) “maybe it happened after pick up because 2/3 educators did nappy changes and did not see the bruise.” Then jokingly asks my child “hey *Child’s Name* how did you get that bruise? Was it mommy? Was it us? Haha nahh let’s blame mommy. Tell daddy it was mommy. Or we could just tell daddy he did it.”
I let this slide. Which now thinking back I shouldn’t have let that slide, massive red flag 🚩

Listen, it was just a bruise, I know kids will be kids and will get hurt. That wasn’t the problem, the problem was the lack of accountability and unprofessional communication.

Exactly a week later, picked up child and bubs had a soiled, crusty nappy. Extremely red, small patches of tiny blisters and a rash front and back of bottom of my child. The poor baby was in so much pain.

Next day at drop off, I asked the head educator (Julia) for the nappy log. Before showing me the log, she looks at it herself first, then the first question to come out of her mouth “when did you pick up baby?” I responded with around 4pm
Yeah so her last nappy change was at 2pm. We begin with the next round of changes around 3.45pm, so by the time it was your baby’s turn for a nappy change, you would’ve picked her up.”

In that nappy log, 9 hours my child was in their care, but only changed twice.

I was appalled to say the least.
Came home and called their head office to lay a complaint regarding these two incidents.

The matter was immediately presented to the manager of the centre, who called me not long after my call with head office.

Guess what the manager’s response was? Nappy changes occurred more frequently but they were busy so they didn’t update the log.
In terms of the educator Kamal - manager said “she’s new, which we will train her more so she knows how to speak to parents”
But no apologies about her baby ambassador/head educator of the room, Julia. Nill response.

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!!!

The manager did say she will speak to Julia and Kamal, that I have complaint - and you know what happened after this?
These two educators fully stopped talking to me.
At pick up that day, no acknowledgment that I had come to pick up my child. The next day at drop off the same.

I immediately withdrew my child from their care.

Alison, the centre manager allowed me to withdraw my child immediately without providing the notice period. Rightfully so, you know why?

Because a couple days later, from the soiled nappy situation, my child was extremely unwell. I’m talking hospitalised and continuous gp visits after the hospitalisation for the following weeks thereafter due to a UTI from the outcome of the soiled nappy.
Two courses of antibiotics, multiple rash creams, anti fungal and steroid creams provided by the gp to assist with the pain and discomfort.

Head office never came back to me in response to my complaint.
After withdrawing my child, not a single person from this company, let alone this centre reached out to check on my baby.

This was the first daycare my child attended.

Traumatising is an understatement for what we experienced.

PLEASE AVOIDDDDD this place at all costs.

Gracelands provides a happy, safe and positive learning environment for our kids. The team here is what makes it such a special place. - multiple staff members always welcome you and your children on arrival and pick up - they know your family and care enough to make conversation and suggestions - keep you informed and in the loop, including daily photo updates in app - low staff turnover, caring, positive attitudes and overall lovely staff - healthy and varied menu made fresh each morning by chef Ryan, who also does special event menus and demos in classrooms - constantly update facilities like new toys, books and play equipment throughout the year - outside play area with shade areas and low noise pollution - excellent preschool program with curriculum in all rooms The main testament is my children’s experience and attitude- they love to go each day, point out their ‘school’ when we drive past, and my eldest now in Primary school still loves to visit when picking up her siblings, chat with her previous educators, and play in familiar surrounds.

Guardian Graceland Early Education Centre has been absolutely incredible for both my boys. They’ve loved every moment there (my eldest is in year 1 and still talks about his time there and misses it). And it’s easy to see why. The staff and educators are truly amazing - attentive, nurturing, and genuinely beautiful people who create such a warm and supportive environment. I’m so grateful for the care, love, and learning they’ve provided. Highly recommend!
