Lynne’s Family Day Care Philosophy

I believe in providing safe, inviting, flexible environment which children can follow their own interests. Creating an environment where activities and toys can be accessed with ease and children know where they can be found. I believe in role-play, dress, music, songs and lots of physical activity.

I believe that I encourage independence, self- help and friendships, to accept our differences and levels of achievements. That we are all different and we can help and encourage each other every day. I believe that children can help each other greatly in their learning, language, exploring, imagination if they have the space and time to play. I believe in intentional learning, by offering different crafts (using items from our environment to create artwork). Learning books for writing and reading for readiness for school. I encourage the love of learning. I believe in partnerships with their parents and having open, strong relationships which encourages me to offer an environment where the children are happy, feel secure and that they belong. That they can become confident, know they heard and build strong friendships.

I believe in resources secondhand items for my environment to be as and extension in crafts or outdoor play. I believe in encouraging the group to look around my environment and use resources available to create crafts and play e.g. sticks, stones and leaves. I believe in using the computer to research crafts to make natural items that all around us.
